It has been 1 week since NeighboRx Pharmacy was burglarized for the 2nd time in 7 months. We wanted to extend our sincere gratitude to all of our customers and the community members who have reached out or stopped by the pharmacy this week. Your kind, supportive, and encouraging words, gestures and even gifts are so greatly appreciated. It truly means so much to all of us to see you all rally behind NeighboRx Pharmacy. You have made a terribly emotional and stressful week bearable and reminded us why NeighboRx exists… to serve this amazing community. Some of you have asked questions regarding the incident and I hope you can understand that we cannot answer many of these since this is an ongoing investigation involving multiple agencies and a significant number of other independent pharmacies. We will not allow these horrible criminal acts against our business deter us from striving to provide quality and compassionate patient care. ‼️ATTENTION‼️
Pearl River, NY has now moved into the yellow zone due to rising COVID19 rates. I want to reiterate Ed Day’s statement that local businesses are NOT the source of spread for these new cases. With that being said we want to be proactive at the pharmacy and keep our customers, neighbors and staffs health and safety as a priority.
We will be limiting the amount of customers in the store at one time to 3 and strongly encouraging curb side pick up. Remember to call ahead to refill your medications, check the status of your order and set up a curb side pick up (845) 731-7777.
We have always offered a free delivery service as a courtesy to our customers throughout all of Rockland county and Northern Bergen county. Since March we have seen an increase in our delivery business and we are asking our loyal customers to remain patient and conscious of their neighbors that are in the greatest need at this point in time.
Our goal at NeighboRx Pharmacy has always been to provide quality healthcare from compassionate professionals. Thank you for your understanding and business.

Vitamin D and Coronavirus.
There are studies that have found a correlation between having sufficient levels of vitamin D, and having a less severe case of the coronavirus. These studies do not claim to find causation. Nevertheless, vitamin D is good for the immune system, and according to some analyses vitamin D even reduces the risk of acute respiratory tract infections.

Recent studies have found a link between low vitamin D levels and an increased risk of COVID-19 infection, but they don't prove that the vitamin is protective.

Face Masks.
Many people are using pieces of clothing as a substitute for an actual face mask, and this is partly because face masks have been difficult to find. A study revealed that bandanas are the least effective face mask material, but it's good to remember that even the best face masks have flaws.

ER Visits.
Emergency Room visits are down throughout the country, and some doctors are concerned about this. People are not leaving their homes as much due to the coronavirus, and this means people neglect going to the ER. There have been cases where people have serious symptoms, and they still won't go to the emergency room. If someone has symptoms of a heart attack, or stroke, then it is worth going to the emergency room.

Vitamin D and Coronavirus.
There is evidence that Vitamin D will help with lessening the severity of the coronavirus, although more research is still needed. It is good to remember that doctors are warning against taking too much vitamin D, as an excess amount of the vitamin can be bad for you. Moderation is important, so making an informed decision is essential when it comes to choosing the right dose of the vitamin.

Eighty Percent.
There was a recent study that was conducted on a cruise ship, it tested to see which of its passengers were positive for the coronavirus, after there had been an outbreak on the ship. Out of the people who tested positive eighty percent were asymptomatic. This means that it's possible that most people who have the coronavirus don't even realize it.

Moderna.
The vaccine that is being developed by Moderna for the coronavirus seems promising. The only side effects people were experiencing were mild, and those who received the vaccine developed antibodies. The vaccine is heading into phase 2 of testing, and will hopefully prove to be safe and effective.

The vaccine seems safe and able to prompt the body to produce antibodies against the coronavirus at levels comparable to a natural infection.

Remdesivir.
The company Gilead created the drug Remdesivir which was being used to treat ebola, but is now being used to combat the coronavirus. This does not seem to be a miracle drug, but that doesn't mean it isn't helpful. According to one study Remdesivir improved patients recovery time by about thirty one percent.
