"Charlie Claire Heinzman made her fast debut into the world with a 2.5 hour labor on November 30th weighing 9 lbs 4 oz and measuring 21.5 inches long. 🎀
On November 29th around 9:00 pm, my husband and I were sitting on the couch watching TV when I felt a small gush of water and immediately knew my labor was beginning. I texted Jaymee a heads up right away as excitement and nervous adrenaline set in, knowing I’d soon be meeting my second baby. We finished our show and headed to bed around 9:45 pm, but rest didn’t last long. Within the hour, light cramping turned into steady, intensifying contractions. By 11:20 pm I began timing them, moving between the bathroom and our dark, quiet bedroom—swaying on the birth ball, eyes closed, breathing and vocalizing softly as my body took the lead.
Around 12:30 am, JD woke to the sounds of labor and began timing contractions, quickly realizing how fast things were progressing. As he texted Jaymee and started setting up the birth pool (which would go unused 😂), my contractions shifted and became unmistakably pushy. By 1:10 am, instinct took over. On my hands and knees, I felt her descending and reached back to feel her head—she was coming now. JD rushed to my side, barely having time to take off my pants before catching our daughter himself. In just four powerful pushes, Charlie Claire entered the world at 1:30 in the morning, strong and ready, greeted by her father’s hands and her first cry. Jaymee and Kellie arrived shortly after to deliver the placenta and complete our care, offering calm, thoughtful support as we soaked in the awe of a fast, peaceful, and powerful home birth 🤍"
