Bonifacio L. Natividad, 87, of Pecos, passed away on Monday evening, November 10, 2025, at his home in Pecos. He was surrounded by his sons, Barney and Benny, along with his wife, Celia.

The Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Pecos Funeral Home at 7pm. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20th, from 10am to 9pm.

Holy Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos. Burial will follow at Pyote Cemetery.

Bonifacio, aka Facho, was born on June 5, 1938 to Jesus and Merced Natividad in Pyote. He attended Pyote school (from K to high school) and graduated in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Celia, in February 1961.

Bonifacio worked for Texaco 30 years where he was known as Bo. He faithfully served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963. He was an active member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church. He worked for the Texas Veterans Commission. For many years, he assisted veterans in getting their benefits. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the Catholic War Veterans. In his retirement years, they traveled throughout the United States and Canada along with lifelong friends.

In his later years, he attended Odessa College. After his retirement from Texaco, he worked at the Reeves County prison teaching woodworking which was a side passion of his. For his grandchildren, he built each a toy box. Many of his woodworking projects can be seen in their home.

Bonifacio is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Merced Natividad, and brothers, Alfonso “Poncho” Natividad and Edwardo “Lalo” Natividad.

He is survived by sisters, Jesusita Cobos of Monahans and Margie (Dimas) Carrasco of Monahans, and brother, Augustin (Virginia) Natividad of Odessa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew (Adriana) Natividad of Bryan, Celia (Steven) McMichael of New Braunfels, Bernardo Natividad Jr. of Sutherland Springs, Sierra Natividad of Bryan, Thomas Natividad of Bryan, Eric George of Charlottesville, Va, and Sara George of Gordonsville, Va. His great-grandchildren, Valentin, Aiden, Madelynn, Athena, Reigan, Baker, and Soliana.

He is survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Natividad, Bernardo Natividad Jr., Thomas Natividad, Eric George, Nacho Pelayo Jr., Steve Rayos, Edward Sanchez, and Sergio Flores.

Memorials may be given in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family of Bonifacio wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to those who cared for Bo throughout these years like Veterans Administration, Pecos Home Health Nurses, Wound Care, Visiting Angels, MCH of Odessa, and others. Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease. It may have robbed him of his memories but none of ours. It is called the “Long Goodbye” for that reason.

I, Beatrice, along with my brothers, Jr. and Benny, would like to acknowledge and give thanks to our brother, Barney, for caring for both our Dad and Mom throughout these years. Barney retired from the IRS over 7 years ago and, instead of “traveling and enjoying retirement”, he came home to Pecos to care for Dad. Barney went above and beyond for Dad in all aspects of life care.

To Barney’s friends, Gilbert Herrera, Arturo Herrera, Paul “Dutch” Dutchover, Jose Hernandez, and others, we greatly thank you for showing your care and love of Barney through your unwavering friendship.

Ella Sue Johnson, age 92, gained her wings peacefully on November 9, 2025, in Midland, Texas. Born on June 23, 1933, in Aspermont, Texas, to Glover and Sarah Miller . She married Alvin James Johnson Sr and their union created four beautiful children. Ella Sue lived a life marked by resilience, service, and unwavering faith.

Growing up in rural Texas during challenging times, Ella Sue developed a strong work ethic early in life. She graduated from Oscar DePriest High School in Hamlin, Texas, in 1952—remarkably, as the only female in her graduating class. Her determination to pursue education was evident even then; she spent half the school year laboring in the cotton fields and the other half attending school. She firmly believed that education was vital and carried that belief with her throughout her life.

Ella Sue dedicated her professional life to caring for others. She began her career as a nurse’s aide and later became certified as a medication aide (LVN). Her compassion and commitment led her to serve at the West Texas State School as a house parent for over 18 years until her retirement. Her nurturing spirit and tireless dedication left a lasting impact on those she cared for and worked alongside.

Faith played a central role in Ella Sue’s life. She was an active member of both St. James Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. At Mt. Zion, she served as the Mother of the Church, taught Sunday school, and led women’s mission activities. Her devotion to her faith was not only spoken but lived—she exemplified love, kindness, and generosity in every aspect of her life.

Ella Sue found joy in connecting with others and never met a stranger. She loved reading and socializing and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Her volunteer work reflected her generous heart—she gave her time at local museums and schools and participated in mobile planetarium presentations. She also served as manager at Something Moore and was an enthusiastic campaign manager for her daughter Louise.

Her creativity shone through in her love for crafting, while her adventurous spirit led her to travel and embrace new experiences. But above all else, she cherished time spent with family and friends.

Ella Sue is lovingly remembered by her sister Ester Ruth Bennett of Kyle, TX; daughter Myrna (Alvin) Russell of Midland, TX; daughter Louise Moore of Pecos, TX; son Alvin Johnson Jr. of Midland, TX; granddaughters Tevayan Russell of Midland, TX; Susan (Blake) Mitchell of DeWitt, AR; Catherine (Dylan) Saunders of Pflugerville, TX; Natasia Johnson of California; great-grandchildren Maxton Mitchell and Mermorie Mitchell of DeWitt, AR; Legend Russell of Midland, TX; Nora Saunders of Pflugerville, TX; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless others whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Glover and Sarah Miller, her daughter Ella Sue Johnson, her ex-husband Alvin Johnson Sr, ,her sisters Ada Jean Harris, Rosemary Williams Lily Mae White, Betty Snead, Nancy Hines; brothers Lee Edward Norman, Daniel Miller, Harold Miller, Julius Miller, Glover Miller; son-in-law Emmit Moore Jr.; and grandson Alvin Russell II.

Ella Sue Johnson leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, faithfulness, and love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and joy to those who celebrate the remarkable life she lived.

Robert “Bobby” Rogers, 86, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2025.

Memorial services will be at 2 PM on Saturday, November 15th, at the 4th and Bois D’Arc Church of Christ in Pecos. Arrangements are with the Pecos Funeral Home.

Bobby was born in Antoine, Arkansas to Robert Sterling Rogers and Ipanuel (Lamb) Rogers on December 28, 1938. Growing up, he attended schools in Antoine, Texarkana, Barstow (Texas) and Pecos. He married Patricia “Patsy” Hill on January 22, 1958 in Pecos. He worked in farming for many years, growing mostly cotton. He later worked as a truck driver for East Texas Motor Freight and then as a pipeline compressor mechanic for Texas Oil and Gas.

Bobby played three sports in high school, most notably as a catcher on the Eagle baseball team. He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. He watched most of the Atlanta Braves baseball games when they were televised nationally. He passed his love of sports on to his sons, who in turn have passed it on to their sons.

Faith was important to Bobby. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, serving as a deacon and later as an elder. He taught various Bible classes and prepared meticulously for each class he taught.

Bobby was well respected in Pecos and earned that respect with his honesty and the way he treated people with dignity and fairness. He had a strong work ethic and took his responsibilities seriously. He was a faithful husband and a good father.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father and mother and a son, Gary Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patsy; sons Butch (Donna) and Jimmy (April), and daughter-in-law Cindy Rogers; grandchildren Shacie Guyette, Megan Hignight, Michael Rogers, Tori Morris, Carli Cotterell, Marcus Rogers, Garrett Rogers, Derek Rogers and Robert Rogers, along with 15 great-grandchildren.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The New Mexico Christian Children’s Home or the West of the Pecos Museum.
