Pecos Funeral Home has been serving the families of Pecos and Reeves County for over 80 years.Originally located on Oak Street serving the area as a furniture store and mortuary.Pecos Funeral home moved to our current location in the late 1960’s at 607 W. 3rd in Pecos in the former Ross house. The original house was built in 1912, and we are happy to show people around the old house any time they would like.Our funeral home offers families a large chapel for memorial services or funeral services.We offer a wide verity of service options to give families the ability to personalize each funeral or cremation service to remember their loved ones. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Irene Galindo, who left this world surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout her life.
She was born on April 5, 1933 in Marfa, Tx. She was the daughter of Dorothea Galindo and attended school in Marfa, Tx. She resided in Pecos, Tx most of her life. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find peace in knowing her love lives on in each of us. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Wright Jr; her grandsons, Israel Wright and Ernest Wright Jr; her sisters, Elva Galindo, Ida Galindo and Gloria Holguin; and her mother Dorothea Galindo.

She is survived by her daughter Elda Fuentez(late husband Alfredo Fuentez); her son Ernest Wright and wife Jeannie Wright; her grandchildren, Mark Wright, wife Angie Wright, Joe Daniel Wright, D'Andra Busta mantes, husband Elario Bustamantes, Monica Wright Prieto, husband Jaime Prieto, Angela Fuentez, spouse Ivan Paradez, Crystal Mendoza, spouse Margo Vargas, Ernest Wright Jr, and Kayla Wright; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be; Joe Daniel Wright, Elario Bustamantes, Ivan Paredez, Elario Bustamantes Jr, Marc Bejaran, Ernest Wright Jr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home from 9:00am to 9:00pm with rosary to be held at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00am at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. Evergreen in Pecos, Texas.

Ernest Dominguez, 55, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Pecos.

Ernest was born on May 5, 1970, in Pecos, Texas, to Maria R. Dominguez and Justo Dominguez. Raised in the close-knit Pecos community, Ernest attended Pecos High School. He later continued his education at Odessa College where he built his career as a Commercial Heavy-Duty Truck Driver. He spent countless hours on the road, working long days and nights to support those he loved.

On February 22, 1999, Ernest married Belinda Dominguez, the love of his life and his greatest companion. Their marriage was built on laughter, and shared adventures. Whether it was simply driving around town together, listening to music, or enjoying everyday moments side by side, Ernest treasured the time he spent with Belinda.

Ernest enjoyed gambling and never passed up the opportunity to try his luck. Music was always a part of his life, often playing in the background whether he was relaxing at home or cruising through town. He loved barbecuing and bringing family and friends together. Ernest also had a deep appreciation for low riders and enjoyed the pride and style that came with them. He believed in enjoying the fruits of his hard work and was known for spending money on whatever brought him happiness.

Ernest was preceded in death by his mother, Maria R. Dominguez.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Belinda Dominguez; his children, John Dominguez and wife, Azlyan, Amber Dominguez and husband Joaquin, Fernando Dominguez, Ernest Dominguez Jr., Pearl Dominguez, Valerie Barraza, Alex Rayos and husband Kenny, Oscar Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez and wife Yadira, Victoria Morales and husband Johnny, Crystal Esparza Sanchez Hernandez Bazaldua and husband Ramon and Deedra Sanchez and Husband Luis; his father, Justo Dominguez; his brothers, Jerry Dominguez, Gabriel Dominguez, Larry Dominguez, Justo Dominguez Jr, Nicky Dominguez, his sisters, Brenda Dominguez, Debra Dominguez and Janet Dominguez, grandchildren; along with his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 9:00am to 9:00pm at Pecos Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Pecos Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

Services are under the care of Pecos Funeral Home.

Phyllis Mae Richardson Fisher, 89, of Loving, New Mexico, passed away on February 13, 2026 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, in the Chihuahuan Desert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on March 7, 2026, at West Park Baptist Church, Pecos, Texas, with Pastor Rey Carreon officiating. Burial will be a private family ceremony.

Phyllis Mae was born May 14, 1936 on the Jagow Ranch in Arlington, Arizona, located in the Sonoran Desert. The doctor was from Buckeye so that is the place of birth on her birth certificate. Phyllis Mae was the seventh of eight children born to Walter Ray Richardson and Mary Nim Thompson Richardson. She graduated from Redmond High School in Redmond, Oregon in 1954 and graduated with an associate’s degree in Commercial Illustration and Design from Oregon Institute of Technology, Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1957. Phyllis attended beauty college in Las Vegas, Nevada but when it went out of business she decided to join the Army, February 1, 1959. Phyllis Mae was outstanding trainee out of two platoons and acting sergeant in basic training at Fort McClellan in Anniston, Alabama, nestled in the Choccolocco Foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. She met George Harvey Fisher, an MP in the Army at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. After a courtship of 56 days, Phyllis Mae and George Harvey married December 1, 1959. She mustered out of the Army, April 20, 1960 and became a housewife raising her two children, Janey Loree and Douglas Wayne. She was a homemaker, published author and illustrator, a master gardener, painter and prayer warrior.

Phyllis Mae is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Harvey; her father, Walter Ray; her mother, Mary Nim; her siblings, Mary Elizabeth, Shirley Ann, Elmer Ray, Walter Nim, and Marjorie Alice; her granddaughter, Christina Dawn, and her son-n-law, Shot Paschal.

Phyllis Mae is survived by her daughter Janey Loree Fisher Paschal of Loving, New Mexico, her son, Douglas Wayne Fisher of Quartzsite, Arizona, her brother, Reece Pinkney Richardson and his wife Lorene of Prineville, Oregon; her sister, Jessie Carol Ondusko of Browns Mills, New Jersey; her grandson Travis Lee Fisher and his fiancé, Shirley Wallace of Pecos, Texas; her grandson, Anthony Wayne Fisher and his wife Erin Adelle and their children, Scarlett Joyce, Garrett Wayne, and Elliette Loree of Pecos, Texas; her granddaughter, Melany Ann McQueen and her husband Jason and their children, Bishop, Eli, and Augustus of Phoenix, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Douglas Wayne Fisher, Travis Lee Fisher, Anthony Wayne Fisher and Garrett Wayne Fisher.

The family of Phyllis Mae Richardson Fisher wish to express special thanks to Amy Chavez, FNP and Flight Nurse; the staff at GoodLife Senior Living and Memory Care 2; the staff at Enhabit Hospice of Carlsbad; Pecos Funeral Home; Pastor Rey of West Park Baptist who also married Shot & Janey Paschal, Anthony & Erin Fisher, and buried George Harvey Fisher and Byron Wayne “Shot” Paschal; to our family and friends on social media who kept Phyllis Mae lifted up through the last years of her life, to Ray & Vicki Trout of Carlsbad for sharing their guesthouse and to Jeanette Scott of Loving, New Mexico for her servant’s heart!!

Mary Elizabeth Akins of Pecos TX passed on February 16, 2026 at home.
She was born in Dublin Tx to Ulmer Jordan Rackley & Ellen Elizabeth Harris Rackley. She attended school in Dublin Texas.

She married Billie Joe Akins on February 7, 1950. They lived in various places including Hearn Tx & Roswell, NM before landing in Pecos Tx where they raised their family. Mary worked hard throughout her life to include ironing for the general public, the West Side Laundry Mat & , Dairy Mart before beginning her career at PBT ISD. She retired from the ISD after 20 years with multiple Achievement Awards. When she was not working she enjoyed spending time with family and her church groups. She was an active member in Calvary Baptist Church where she played the piano for 50 years. She then was a member of the West Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, find a word puzzles, gardening, quilting, sewing. She spent a lot of her retirement years enjoying the company of her friends at the Senior Center, playing cards.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings; Alamarine Cotten, Norine Clary, Donald Dalmon Rackley; Ulmer Keith Rackley & Kenneth Laverne Rackley. Mary is survived by her daughters Laverne Hegwood of Quanah, TX; Betty (Roland) Teague of Alpine, Tx; Sons James (Ann) Akins of Pecos, Tx; Billy (Tina) Akins of Farmmerville, LA and Alfredo (Diami) of Modesta, CA. Grandchild: Tina, Charles Jr, Dean, Eric, Timothy, Kevin; Thomas James Jr, Christina, Tabitha, Kimberly, Jeffery, Misty, Phillip, Matthew, Nicholas, Johnathan, Ricardo & Jessica ; 50 Great Grand kids & 17 Great Great Grand kids

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at West Park Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be in Proctor Cemetery, Proctor TX on March 21, 2026 at 2:00pm.

Helen Fobbs, age 66, of Pecos passed away on February 14, 2026 in Round Rock Texas.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Pecos funeral home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Pecos Funeral Home at 2:00 pm

Helen will be laid to rest a Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas

Arrangments are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.

Helen was born in El Paso Texas to Joe and Mary Lou Corson on September 6, 1959. Helen was part of the rainbow girls and Girl Scouts and also joined ROTC. She attended and graduated from Andress high school. Helen worked for Freeport Sulfer/Penzoil for many years until she received a severance package and intended and graduated from UTPB with a bachelors of business administration. Helen became the accounts payable for UTBP where she worked for 14 years. Helen had many adventures in her life and always enjoyed friends and family but she loved her girls most of all . Helen really enjoyed crocheting. She would make gifts for friends and family, won awards and began donating her pieces.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother - Mary Lou Corson, sister - Sharon Kopecky, and stepson - Kendrick Fobbs

Helen is survived by daughters Jamie Roddy (Robert Roddy, spouse) and Jennifer Fobbs. Sister - Sandra Overcash (Billy Overcash, spouse) . Father - Joseph Corson.
Stepsons - Nathanial Fobbs and Christopher Fobbs, grandchildren Helen Jones (DeVonte Jones Spouse), Alexis Roddy, Arethea Roddy, Leona Roddy, Elijah Cochran, Isaiah Moore, Kanan Fobbs, and great grandchild Brielle Jones. Nieces Daniela Kopecky and Patsy Duffy. Nephews Robert Overcash and Billy Ray Overcash.

Pallbearers will be Elijah, Isaiah, Robert, Billy Ray, Chris.

Memorials may be given to Helen‘s daughters. The family of Helen wishes to extend their sincere thanks to everyone attending near and far. Special things to Georgetown nursing and transitional care specifically named by Helen was Tyler, Lorena, Amanda and Gail. Special thanks to Dorothy Chavez for being a wonderful friend to Helen through her entire adult life.
