Hey Westchester — looks like Mother Nature’s got weekend plans too!
A nor’easter is expected to move in Sunday, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds (up to 40 mph). The good news? No snow this time! Just plenty of wind and wet weather to go around.
With high winds in the forecast, remember to Lock It Down or Lose It! Make sure to secure patio chairs, planters, trash bins, and anything else that could turn into a low-flying object.
Here are other tips to be prepared and stay safe:
🌳 Tree Check 101 – Those branches hanging a little too close to your house? Give them a quick check to make sure they don’t give you a surprise visit.
💧 Gutter Patrol – Clear out those leaves so the rain has somewhere to go (other than your basement).
🔋 Charge Everything! – Phones, flashlights, power banks… even that Bluetooth speaker for your storm soundtrack.
🚗 Stay Off the Roads if You Can – Wet leaves + strong wind = slippery adventure you don’t need.
⚡ Downed Power Lines = Big NOPE – Never go near them. Always assume they’re live. Report them right away to your utility or call 911.
📱 Follow for Updates – Keep up with the weather reports. We’ll post important alerts and updates here if needed.
Even though this nor’easter is bringing rain instead of snow, it’s still packing plenty of power. A little prep now will make Sunday and early Monday a lot smoother.
Stay safe and stay dry!
