Help us wish Sarah Scharf a very happy birthday! 🥳🎉

Sarah joined PCVAC in 2022, and since then has steadily risen through the ranks—first becoming one of our Emergency Medical Technicians and later stepping up as an ambulance driver. She also serves as a key leader in our organization as the Youth Corps and Social Media Co-Chairperson.

Her upbeat personality, dedication, and ability to brighten any room make her an invaluable part of our team.

Enjoy your special day, Sarah! Thank you for everything you do! 🎂✨

Help us wish the Queen of Spades, Candice Mercado, a happy birthday!♠️

Candice joined PCVAC in 2017, and previously served as Lieutenant. In addition to being an EMT, Candice is constantly pursuing a higher education while balancing her many job passions. Even though she has a busy schedule, Candice always makes time to volunteer and attend events. Thank you Candice for always being a smiling, welcoming face to the VAC (unless you cut her in spades). We hope that you have a great birthday!🥳🎂

We help save all lives, not just human ones 🦨😤

Late Wednesday night PCVAC crews came across a skunk in distress while transporting a patient. After clearing the hospital, crews scoured the street to locate the animal. Once located on Brown Street, EMT Wilkes bravely and safely removed the cup from the skunk’s head

Hey Westchester — looks like Mother Nature’s got weekend plans too!

A nor’easter is expected to move in Sunday, bringing heavy rain and gusty winds (up to 40 mph). The good news? No snow this time! Just plenty of wind and wet weather to go around.

With high winds in the forecast, remember to Lock It Down or Lose It! Make sure to secure patio chairs, planters, trash bins, and anything else that could turn into a low-flying object.

Here are other tips to be prepared and stay safe:
🌳 Tree Check 101 – Those branches hanging a little too close to your house? Give them a quick check to make sure they don’t give you a surprise visit.
💧 Gutter Patrol – Clear out those leaves so the rain has somewhere to go (other than your basement).
🔋 Charge Everything! – Phones, flashlights, power banks… even that Bluetooth speaker for your storm soundtrack.
🚗 Stay Off the Roads if You Can – Wet leaves + strong wind = slippery adventure you don’t need.
⚡ Downed Power Lines = Big NOPE – Never go near them. Always assume they’re live. Report them right away to your utility or call 911.
📱 Follow for Updates – Keep up with the weather reports. We’ll post important alerts and updates here if needed.

Even though this nor’easter is bringing rain instead of snow, it’s still packing plenty of power. A little prep now will make Sunday and early Monday a lot smoother.

Stay safe and stay dry!
