MARCH YOGA NOTES + LUNAR Blood Moon Eclipse
LUNAR Blood Moon Eclipse
In the early morning quiet of March 3, a total lunar eclipse will create a dramatic blood moon over the Full Moon in Virgo. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, Earth, and moon align, causing the full moon to pass through Earth’s umbra. In New York, around 4:50 am, Earth’s curved shadow will become noticeable and take on a reddish-orange hue. Totality starts at 6:04 am, cloaking the moon in deep red, peaking at 6:33 am, and ending at 7:02 am.
The moon will be low on the western horizon as it sets, showing its deepest red just before dipping below the skyline. Due to its low position, it might fade from view early, depending on your horizon line. Local cloud cover can also affect visibility, so check the skies. This is the only total lunar eclipse in 2026.
