Periodontal care is based thorough communication between the patient, restorative dentist, and the Periodontist. We treat patients in a comfortable, relaxed environment and a professional atmosphere. Nichols received his DMD from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. He then completed his Periodontal residency at the University of Oklahoma. PERIODONTICS:

The specialty of dentistry which includes the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the supporting bone, connective tissue, and the gums surrounding the teeth, as well as the replacement of lost teeth and supporting structures by grafting or the placement of dental implants. Almost 90% of adults suffer from some form of periodontal disease, and it accounts for over 70% of tooth loss among adults today. Frequently painless, it is a disease that can be detected only by a dentist or a dental hygienist. Fortunately, it is also a disease that can usually be halted with proper treatment and care by your Periodontist. Treatment of periodontal disease is rapidly advancing and is much more comfortable and predictable than ever before. COMMON PROCEDURES PERFORMED BY A PERIODONTIST:

-Regeneration: increases lost support around teeth due to periodontal disease
-Crown Lengthening: assists your restorative dentist to create healthier restoration
-Dental Implants: replaces a single lost tooth or many missing teeth with non-removable restorations
-Cosmetic Surgery: enhances the appearance of your smile by improving the gum line

Our office will soon require a replacement for our wonderful front desk/insurance claims personnel. She will be retiring at the beginning of April. We are currently accepting applications and resumes. Although we prefer candidates with dental claims experience, we are willing to provide training to the ideal candidate.

Our office has relocated and will now see patients at the following address starting Monday, March 21, 2022.

2619 Pelham Parkway
Pelham, AL 35124

However, our new sign has not been placed at the current location. It will still have Dr. Ann O’rear on the roadside sign and on the building. As soon as we can make the switch we will.

We loved being in Helena for so long and will in many ways consider it home. But, as we all know things can and often do change. We were fortunate to practice at the location we did for the past 15 years. Unfortunately, the building was sold. Fortunately, the new owners will be an asset to the City of Helena.

We want all of our current patients to know that nothing has changed but our location. We have the same employees, business days and hours. We are using our same business phone number and email address.

We look forward to seeing current and new patients for many more years to come!

Today was one of those days when the patients made me feel so good about what I do! As a hygienist, I get to deal with patients that have all sorts of reservations about being in my chair. They may be afraid, in pain, or just don’t want to be there. To be able to interact with these patients and listen to their reasons and actual validate their feelings can be so rewarding. How, you may ask? Well sometimes people just need to be heard, really heard! With patience and understanding, a preconceived “scary” appointment can turn into a pleasant experience. How do I know this? That’s what I was told all morning and it made me feel awesome! So…thank you to my patients! I look forward to seeing you soon!
