If you are subject to a Non-compete Contract at your employment:
After taking public comments on non-competes, the Federal Trade Commission received over 26,000 comments, with over 25,000 of those being against non-competes. The FTC has now issued a rule prohibiting Non-compete Contracts, with the rule going into effect on or around August 23, 2024. At that point, employers will be required to notify their employees that they will no longer be subject to non-competes that are or will be in effect at that time. There are exceptions, however, such as certain senior executives, and this rule does not apply to non-disclosure agreements.
If you are subject to a non-compete clause at work and you have questions as to whether this applies to you, contact the Pino Law Firm to find out more.

No trivia this week. Instead, here is an article from this past week.

If you have a teenager, you will want to read this.

Some of the claims in this article are, at best, highly misleading, and, at worst, just plain false. If you are arrested with an illegal v**e, you are not just provided prevention, education, etc., but you ARE placed into the court system. In fact, your teenager can be taken to court on a case that is not even confidential by law as he/she should be with any other criminal case. Instead, the child is issued a citation in some places, which removes the case from the protections of the Juvenile Court. On another issue, it is common knowledge that simple possession of ma*****na is a misdemeanor. However, some law enforcement agencies are attempting, on a hyper-technicality, to charge people with THC v**es with a felony, because it is not actually ma*****na, but liquid THC, which falls under the Controlled Substances Act.

Officers say Earron Deandre Bryant was selling the products to 15 high school students from Oak Mountain and Chelsea.

He turns off the vehicle, reclines his seat, and falls asleep. After about 20 minutes, he is awakened by a police officer tapping at his window. The officer asks John to perform a field sobriety test and he fails.
True or false: Based upon these facts, John can be charged with a DUI.
