Preventing fires is one thing to be aware of — another is being prepared to put out a fire. Does your home have a fire extinguisher on each level? Consider having one in the kitchen and near the laundry — two common sources of fires in the home. Also, remember to clean out the dryer vent. This prevents lint buildup and helps your dryer work more efficiently and safely.
