Established in 1995 with the support of leading voices in neurology and music therapy, IMNF has remained at the forefront of research, training, and therapeutic innovation. We’re honored to share that the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) is one of nine recipients of the 2025 Renée Fleming Neuroarts Investigator Awards, presented by the Renée Fleming Foundation and the NeuroArts Blueprint Initiative—a partnership between Johns Hopkins University and the Aspen Institute.

Our project, in collaboration with Stanford University, will explore how music therapy can be translated into a self-administered digital therapeutic to support young adults with depression and anxiety. This work is being led by Dr. Daniel Bowling (Stanford) and Sarah Fogler, MS, MT-BC, LCAT-LP, a music therapist at IMNF.

So thrilled to be part of this national effort to advance the science of how the arts support healing and well-being. More to come as the project unfolds!
