It’s been a minute since I’ve made a nerdy science post, so here we go 🤓

Allostatic load — ever heard of it?
It refers to the cumulative strain on the body when stress hormones like cortisol, epinephrine, and norepinephrine stay elevated for long periods of time.

The body is adaptive, but it isn’t meant to live in constant survival (fight-or-flight) mode. Over time, this can impact sleep, immunity, digestion, mood, and muscle tension.

So if you’re feeling worn down, it’s not a lack of resilience — it’s a need for recovery.
Make sure you’re giving your nervous system the rest and reset it needs. 🤍
