For Account Executive Angela, helping veterans access the care they need at Aveanna isn’t just a job, it’s a personal mission.

Her son Grant joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard while still in high school. From cheering him on at his graduation from Basic Training to supporting him through deployments in the Middle East, Angela and her husband Steven have lived the strength and sacrifice of a military family.

"Grant’s military journey has filled me with so much pride," said Angela. "My experience as a military mom has inspired me to give back to other families of those who have served our country. Our veterans' remarkable resilience, adaptability, and selflessness provides us with an opportunity to show our thanks by providing exceptional care. Today is World Diabetes Day, a chance for us to educate our communities on diabetes and support those living with it.

Diabetes is a chronic condition that occurs when the body cannot use insulin properly to regulate blood sugar levels. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the body produces little to no insulin because the immune system attacks the cells that produce it. Type 2 diabetes, the most common type, occurs when the body produces insulin, but the cells do not respond well to it.
