To our Nourish Guests,
Here at Nourish we have dedicated our professions to helping others through many different ways. It is a beautiful team and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of it.
In September, Nourish had a local vendor come in to sell bracelets in efforts to help raise support and awareness for su***de prevention month.
In November, Nourish worked with “Start Small” project to gather diapers and wipes for refugees in need.
My name is Joni. I am India’s Aunt, and you will see me at the front desk at Nourish. November 18, 2022 my son Griffin at the age of 17 was in an accident involving a serious brain injury. Griffin spent 30 days at the University of Iowa Hospital and while there, my family was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House (RMDH) to be at Griffin's side. On December 18, 2022 we said our earthly goodbyes to our sweet boy. The Ronald McDonald House was a great comfort and support to my family. It was a haven for us as we fought to save Griffin. It is hard to put into words the blessings the RMDH has been for myself and my children. The amazing humans running the house knew the best ways to greet us, take us in and love us through the tragedy we were living. The Ronald McDonald House is very special to my family and dear to my heart.
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, and Nourish would like to help by supporting the Ronald McDonald house.
There are many ways you can support the Ronald McDonald house such as:
*Pop tabs: 9.1 million pop tabs were collected in 2024, amounting to $3,671 which covered about 36 nightly stays at the house.
*Soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, deodorant and dental floss
*Grab and Go food: Mac and Cheese, Popcorn, granola bars, canned goods
*Board games, stuffed animals and dolls, all level of books, puzzles, fidget toys (Griffin took advantage of the fidget toys)
*Laundry detergent, dryer sheets, trash bags, paper products
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering donating to the RMDH.
Blessings,
Joni and the Nourish Team
