I watched the movie The Shack (fiction, drama) last night. I had seen it 8 yrs ago when it came out, but because I knew the book so well I found myself comparing, and it kinda spoiled it for me. Watching last night was like seeing it for the first time.

Yes, the acting leaves something to be desired - especially the family scenes, in my opinion.
But the suffering and torment Mack carries and his accusations against God are exactly the questions I have asked and likely you have too. How can God allow such horrible things, especially to children, and still claim to be LOVE.

It's on Netflix through this month. And can likely be found other places. It's worth your time if you wrestle with these things.

Your nervous system knows the difference. When a conversation triggers survival mode (increased cortisol, faster heart rate, defensive thinking), that’s not a cue to explain harder — it’s a cue to protect your energy. 🧬

Arguing with someone who’s not listening doesn’t make you wise. Knowing when to walk away does. 👣

👀 How long have you spent hoping they will change? Has it ever happened? Does it bring you any long-lasting peace?
It's okay to stop waiting.
It's okay to grieve the version of them you wished existed.
And it's okay to accept who they've already shown you they are.
Acceptance isn't giving up — it's the beginning of true peace.
