Dr. Roberts is a psychotherapist, author and State Approved Supervisor who maintains a private practice in Pembroke Pines, Florida. There is a difference.

She provides services throughout Florida to include individual therapy, premarital counseling, and couples/marital therapy. Life is unpredictable, isn't it? We just never know what's coming our way, and while we may feel confident in our ability to navigate those unexpected moments, there are times we just do not. Our coping strategies seem to fail us; we feel defeated. We have all experienced tho

se moments. Sometimes we are able to bounce back. But, if you are really struggling with feeling overwhelmed, constantly stressed and maybe anxious, and/or depressed, reach out for help. Know that it’s okay to ask for help. Attending to your mental health does NOT mean you have a mental illness. Seeking help to better manage life's stressors is simply that - getting help during that challenging period - getting help to identify more effective and appropriate coping strategies, and gaining all the benefits therapy has to offer:)

Dr. Roberts primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, with a particular interest in evidence-based counseling approaches that merge traditional cognitive behavioral science with mindfulness-based disciplines such as Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. She also uses Gottman Couples Therapy and Systemic Therapies when working with couples and families. Her specialties include:

I am still buzzing from an incredible event on Saturday, the Jamaican Women of Florida’s annual Women’s Empowerment Scholarship Luncheon. Theme: It’s In Our DNA

I was in attendance as a vendor, promoting my guided journal, live each day with LIGHT: *love for self ( yes! We deserve to be loved too!), and with *Intention *Gratitude *Humility & *Thoughtfulness

This year, we were invited to hear the guest speaker, and oh! what a thrill!!
The room lit up with such excitement even before the MC began the introduction. Mere anticipation, ignited by seeing the speaker’s pictures on the screen, sparked a thunderous ovation.
Clearly I was in the minority in not knowing this speaker! this dynamic, bold, energetic, phenomenal, proud Jamaican woman, Natasha D. Mayne, Esq

Loved her energy (was contagious!) her love for God, her family, her country, and our music! 🎶 🎼
And, her authenticity! Thank You for doing YOU!

Her message was clear- keep God first in your life, along with 6 other rules she lives by.

Our hearts go out to everyone in the Caribbean impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

We woke up this morning to the devastating destruction in Jamaica which got a direct hit. The damage is tragic and recovery will be a huge challenge for them.
Please do your part to support these efforts. Find out which organizations in your area will be collecting essential items.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
What can you do to minimize your risk?
*focus on early detection, primarily through regular mammograms
*know your body and recognize potential symptoms like lumps or skin changes
*practice a healthy lifestyle - maintain a healthy weight, engage in a self-care routine daily to attend to your needs: emotionally, mentally, socially, physically, and spiritually. (5 dimensions of self-care)🙂

Kindness matters! and it is always possible to extend kindness to everyone we meet.

Let us not forget that people do not wear signs expressing how they are truly feeling, and they may not even verbalize it....thinking, why bother? no one really cares.
We ask "how are you?" but, do we take the time to stop and wait for a real answer? do we care to hear the real answer, or do we just move on?

People are carrying heavy loads. We all face challenges in life, and for some, it may be extremely difficult to navigate. Take the time to offer a gentle word, a smile, a phone call to check on a friend you haven't seen in a while, take a meal to an elderly in your neighborhood...there are so many opportunities to spread kindness.

Maybe you are carrying that heavy load. Reach out to someone - help is always available. Make your mental health a priority.
