Pembroke Pediatrics, founded by the current medical director, Joseph Bell, MD, is located at 812 Candy Park Road. The practice has a staff of over 25, including Ginger Locklear, MD, two physician assistants and two nurse practitioners. Dr. Bell is the first Native American pediatrician in North Carolina and has a special interest in Native American children’s health.

The Lumbee Tribe of N.C. is excited to offer Swim Lessons for youth in our community at our Lumbee Tribe Aquatic Center on July 22 - July 25th from 6 - 7 pm. It is open to youth ages 5 - 14. The cost is $35. You may sign up at the Lumbee Tribe Aquatic Center at our Cultural Center on Terry Sanford Drive in Maxton, NC.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our cherished colleague and partner, Dr. Joseph Bell, cornerstone of our Children’s Health family.
Dr. Bell was more than a partner - He was a passionate advocate for children's health, a dedicated healer, and a constant source of compassion and strength. Through years of tireless service, Dr. Bell touched countless lives, providing not only medical care but also comfort, hope, and joy to families across our community.
The legacy he leaves behind is one of kindness, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the mission of pediatric care. Though our hearts are heavy, we are uplifted by the memories we share and the impact Dr. Bell had on all of us.
On behalf of our Children’s Health family, we extend our deepest condolences to Dr. Bell’s loved ones, patients, and all who were blessed to know him. May we continue to honor his life through the work we do and the children we serve.
