Healthkeeperz Celebrates Grand Opening of New CAP Case Management Office in Lumberton
Robeson County – Lumberton, NC – On a beautiful fall morning, Healthkeeperz proudly hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of its new Community Alternatives Program (CAP) Case Management Office in Lumberton, NC. Held on October 22, the event marked a major milestone in expanding access to home and community-based services for families across Robeson County and surrounding areas.
With record attendance of over 60 guests, the event brought together community leaders, healthcare partners, elected officials, and members of the public who share in the mission of supporting families with complex care needs. The Lumberton Chamber of Commerce, along with Mayor Bruce Davis and City Councilman Eric Chavis, joined Healthkeeperz leadership and teammates in commemorating the occasion.
Healthkeeperz President & CEO Tim Brooks delivered heartfelt remarks, reflecting on the critical role CAP Case Management plays in supporting children and adults with disabilities. "Healthkeeperz is a leading and trusted agency in providing CAP Case Management,” Brooks shared. “For more than 20 years, we have helped children and adults flourish in the place they call home through compassionate and coordinated care. Our team’s passion and expertise are what make us a true partner to the families we serve.”
“It’s a family business that started with my father, Howard Brooks, more than 60 years ago...I’m standing on his shoulders as he stood on the shoulders of those who came before him. So we certainly don’t take credit for what Healthkeeperz is today, because it’s a legacy that my dad started,” remarked Healthkeeperz President & CEO Tim Brooks at the event.
Brooks also recognized the Healthkeeperz CAP Team and shared a moving story of a family whose loved one transitioned from CAP services to hospice care, highlighting how the continuity of support allowed a caregiver daughter to simply be a daughter in her mother’s final days. “Allow Healthkeeperz to take the burden off of you,” he said. “That’s the heart of what we do.”
The Community Alternatives Program (CAP) is a North Carolina Medicaid initiative that helps individuals avoid institutional care by offering person-centered, cost-effective services in the home and community. These services not only promote independence for the participant but also provide critical relief and structure for primary caregivers.
The opening of the new Lumberton location demonstrates Healthkeeperz’s continued commitment to providing trusted, community-based care throughout southeastern North Carolina. With its strong reputation and local roots, Healthkeeperz continues to be a vital healthcare partner for individuals and families navigating complex systems of care.
