Drs. Davis & Woodside joined Ms. Shakeerah McCoy and Ms. Emily Roland from the NC Health Foundation for a panel presentation on the topic of "Social Impact Strategies for Healthcare: Leveraging Human-Centered Design and Cross-Sector Collaboration to Advance Collective Investments in Social Drivers of Health" at the 2025 NC Rural Summit in March.

Back in Fall 2021, UNC Pembroke was awarded a $950K grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust to launch the Southeastern Prevention and Addiction Recovery Resource Center (SPARC).

SPARC was created to strengthen local partnerships, support recovery efforts, and expand the behavioral health workforce in our region. This initiative continues to grow thanks to dedicated faculty, staff, students, and community leaders.

Proud of this milestone in the journey toward a healthier, stronger Southeastern NC!
