Good Morning! It is a chilly day out there - bundle up! I refilled the feeder to keep my real birds friends warm. Not a good day for shorts outside … to my yound folowers (likely none - but it had to be said).
Yesterday, I figured out what was missing in my house … A TREE INSIDE! That is what was missing … and not just any TREE - this one gets dressed up too!
Rhonda and I put together my legendary garage sale find … and decorated it with memories! Every one of my ornaments have wondrous memories of past joys attached, as Hermie the elf (Dentist) watches over all from the top!
Last night after doing some late night Santa stuff … I sat in the dark, staring at my INSIDE TREE with all of its ornaments and sparkely lights - openning memories of years past years with my young sons - dancing in my head! That you INSIDE TREE, for finding them for me! Which is why INSIDE TREE is my Word of the Day!

Good Afternoon (I was doing a little home repair earlier)!
How about a little twist on a beloved CHRISTMAS POEM (Word of the Day alert)
Twas the week before CHRISTMAS,
And Doc’s hair was bad!
He didn’t care - he’s an old dad!

You know, a dad whose jokes make you groan,
Plugging your ears when he gets in his zone.

At the end of the week, we have Holiday Fun,
Should Doc show up with a ManBun?
He would just look like Chis, and that would be that!
…. Or another idea - a tight fitting Santa Hat!

But Doc went to his phone - Shear Ego was needed,
To trim up this mess … and that’s what they did!

So Doc is all good … and party won’t miss.
Even though we all know - NUAGHTY LIST!

Good Morning! For some crazy reason I woke up a little after 4:00am … and couldn’t get back to sleep. Very quiet an peaceful at that time, so I refilled the bird feeder and saw a few friend’s. All non birdseed eating deer are welcome … and I put out a little snack of an over ripe melon they seemed to like.
Today is CHRISTMAS DECORATION DAY. I usually have this all done by now … but I was concerned that with my eye surgeries, I might put two of the same lighs too near each other, and Gram (my Grandmother on my Dad’s side) would call down from Heaven and fire me from DECORATING … like she did while I was in college!
I am a little more go with the flow type of DECORATOR (likely why I was fired so often). At least my living room won’t be DECORATED in circa 2025 paper piles!
So CHRISTMAS DECORATION DAY is my Word of the Day … pictures to come later!

Good Morning! Not a lot going on for this old guy this morning. I’ve been enjoying the quiet of my little house reflecting on recent events - and 2025 in general. I really enjoy reading thoughts of my friends on Facebook - thank you all!
Well, my reflection always brings me to my wonderful sons. When my oldest son Brien was born so tiny, a resident of Strong Hispitals NICU , and not really able to hear … I would talk to him. Mostly saying how proud of him I was for fighting so hard through incredible pain to join our family. Though not as small, Colin followed suite in the same NICU a few years later - fighting to be able to come home. Then Sean stayed in Rochster General’s neonatal ICU (had to be different), again fighting the pain of being able to breathe on his own and come home.
God has blessed me with these three kind boys, that have grown into wonderful men. I pray every night that God will keep them safe, and help them DREAM BIG (a wonderful song by Ryan Shupe and the rubber band). Stay humble, always see the good … and never lose your DREAMS.
Hard work gets you to your goals … but your DREAMS point the direction. So DREAM BIG is my Word of the Day. I hope you can think of your DREAMS and smile!

Good Morning! When I woke up - again I spent a while looking for my glasses … I should have noticed that I could see clearly while I searched!
With my new non-glasses vision, I saw that my calendar has gone pretty far into December … and not a lot of festive here. All of my Holidaty totes are down from the garage loft … but something is missing. I think they will look better out of the boxes!
So my Word of the Day is DECORATE, as in I have to get to work on my little house. I am a Christmas Guy, and I enjoy putting up - and seeing my DECORATIONS. So far I have been lax. My wreaths are hung on my doors, and the guys are in the dining room, but as you can see in my picture … presents by the tree is missing its pazaz! (Maybe it’s the box!)
So after work, I will play Christmas Music and DECORATE … with my favorite elf Rhonda (I don’t think she reads this so I can get away with the elf thing).

Good Morning! I have been practicing reading and changing my focus around my living room. I don’t hear and turning of tiny dials, but it is coming … still no bionic boop-boop- boop sound - must have been in the more high end package!
I have another shout out to Dr Sheils and the skilled, kind teams at Ocusight and the Brighton Surgical Center … Thank you for taking care of me.
On to the silliness … my Word of the Day is A-EYE as in ABSOLUTE EYE POWER. Now that I have A-EYE, I will no longer walk around to office saying ‘I have to find my glasses’ again (this does not apply to magnifying loops - they will still hide on me), knock my glasses off dealing with head itches or big hugs, or fall prey to the ‘fog zone’ when entering a heated space from a cooler outside. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to hide behind a cleverly chosen ‘sexy’ frames to try and look good - now it is all me (cool sunglasses will still come in handy).
I will leave you with that thought, and walk around the house ‘focusing’ on different objects that I encounter! Later - computer time!

Good Morning! The evil DeerBirds do not like the new spicy Birdseed, and a few of my feathered friends have returned!
Well today is my second Cataract Surgery or sequel. I do like my EYES to match. I may be a Star Trek guy (no not in a red shirt) saying EYE-EYE Captain! Maybe this one will have the boop boop boop in it!
Last night I had a wonderful time with Sean. My no longer little boy earned a huge Christmas Bonus - such a good worker! We talked about Holiday Plans and laughed a lot.
Well it is time to go get my tune up … and EYE is my Word of the Day!

Well … no DeerBirds last night. The level is lower than when I filled it with the new Spicy Mix … but where the real birds are is a new mystery.
Yesterday, I received a text from Sean, wondering if I had time for a DINNER get together this week. My fingers almost fell off in my rush to respond - absolutely - and when is good for you!
Of course I have something tomorrow (cataract surgery on the right eye - I wanted them to match), and I really drag after anesthesia - so Tuesday is out. Sean has a company Christmas party Friday, and I was going to attend an online seminar Tuesday night - so tonight is the night!
I am soooo excited! Sean has been great about texting and calling … but sharing a
DINNER will be great! I think Pontillo’s will be making dinner - but I will set the table (which will first need to be cleared of papers and eye stuff) and pour the water beverages! High class here!
So DINNER is my Word of the Day … tonight , for Sean and I … and hopefully for my real bird friends soon!

Good Morning! Today is the day that I get a LITTLE SPICY HERE (Word of the Day alert).
Yesterday during my errand run, I stopped into The Birdhouse (on Monroe ave), to find a way to SPICE things up in my yard … yes there is a new seed in town!
I am going to mix the Hot stuff with my regular menu and see what happens. Maybe tomorrow will still have some seed left for the actual birds!
Now I just have to mix my concoction without getting any SPICE in my recently operated on eye!

Good Morning! Someone set my mind clock to wake me at 4:30 am. I tossed around until 5:00 then started my day … and it is Saturday!
This week has been an expensive losing battle with the DeerBirds. I was starting to think that my bird feeder had a big hole in the bottom. I would see it nearly (or completely) empty in the evening, fill it up for the next day morning rush … only to see it empty again in the morning! Yes, yes, yes there are always incriminating hoof prints in the snowy mulch - so I know who did it!

Ahhhh - live breaking news … as I took a break from typing - to refill for the morning … guess who was snacking as I turned the light on!!!’ Two DeerBirds rocking my real bird feeder! All of us got a little shock at the surprise meeting … these two slowly sauntered away (you can just make out the sneaky form under the reflection from my light) as I semi-zoomed (it is early on a Saturday) to get my phone for a ‘caught-you red hoofed’ photo!

This will require a new strategy … which of course inspired my Word of the Day - SOME LIKE IT HOT (A fabulous 1959 film), but in this case a desperate attempt at limiting the nightly DeerBird snack-a-thons.
My Angel Sister Kate told me to get the HOT bird seed from my friends at The Birdhouse (Monroe Ave) … to which I cleverly said ‘Huh’ (as in what are you talking about?).
With the old open feeder (where all of this started), I was told to add cayenne pepper to the seed to keep SuperSquirrel away (mammals don’t like the spice, but birds don’t notice)… not a great idea on a windy day … and I gave up (with burning eyes). That is when I went with the Squirrel Buster (mostly for regular squirrels - not SuperSquirrel), and eventually the anti-SuperSquirrel baffle to continue feeding the Birds.
These darn DeerBirds will take more effort - and the HOT seed might just do the trick! So SOME LIKE IT HOT is my Word of the Day because - SOME Don’t and I am hoping that DeerBirds are part of that some!

EPILOGUE: remember these from rhe 1970’s nightly cop and spy dramas - where where they explain the complicated stuff and tie up the ending - well for this early Word of the Day - which is no longer early … I learned that if you don’t press Next, followed by Post … your Word of the Day just sits on the phone until you do . Lesson Learned!
