Did you know real henna should NOT be black? 🤔

If someone's offering you "black henna," there's a good chance it contains a chemical called PPD (paraphenylenediamine), which can cause burns, rashes and even permanent skin damage.

The good news? There are natural options out there!

Come out to our long weekend and experience organic henna handcrafted by Shaikh Artistry's Maheen on April 19th from 11–3pm and brought to you by Glass Meadows! She uses only natural henna powder, lemon juice, sugar and skin-safe essential oils like eucalyptus and lavender.

What to know:

-Please arrive with clean skin (skip the lotions and oils beforehand)

-Leave the paste on as long as you can (overnight is ideal, but aim for at least 5 hours). If taken care of, it can last about two weeks!

*Allergic reactions are rare with natural henna, but if you have sensitivities, we recommend checking with your doctor or dermatologist first 🫶

🌊 BREAKWATER IS HERE AT PB! 🌊

“I began my career in c@nn@b|s in 2020, when New Jersey was still medical-only. At the time, patients selected an Alternative Treatment Center (ATC) for their medicine, and Breakwater was already a trusted name, having opened in 2015 as one of just six ATCs in the state.

That same year, as New Jersey navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, all 12 ATCs were deemed Essential Businesses. The New Jersey Medical C@nn@b|s Program grew rapidly, adding more than 60,000 new patients and bringing the total number of registered patients since the program’s inception to 150,000. That marked a 70% increase over the previous year. Every ATC shifted to curbside operations, disrupting workflows and leading to significantly longer wait times for patients.

Even as many of us remained rooted in passion, education, quality, and patient care, the state experienced a major flower drought. Availability and quality were inconsistent across New Jersey, but Breakwater always remained strong, with car lines wrapping around its building. This was my first impression of them.

Breakwater still remains New Jersey’s #1 Medical D¡sp0. From opening their doors in 2015 to intentionally expanding into adult-use in 2025, three years after legalization and ten years after they began, their priorities have remained the same. Patient care and product quality always come first. Their decision to grow slowly reflects a commitment to ensuring patients have access to effective medicines, rather than spreading their offerings too thin. They are true believers in quality over quantity.

Breakwater is local, New Jersey-bred, and guides its menu decisions through patient feedback and strict quality control. They are not strangers to trying new ph£no types, but they hone in on the importance of keeping core, known options available. After a decade, they remain true to their mission, which I think is admirable in anyone’s book.”
