We were proud to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month with flag raising ceremonies at Capital Health Regional Medical Center and Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell this week. Celebrated from September 15 to October 15, this annual observation honors the history and culture of U.S. Latino and Hispanic communities. Brief presentations were given before each flag raising. Thanks to Chief Operating Officer Arlene Walsh, Capital Health Board Member Carmen Garcia, Deputy General Counsel Rafael Villalobos, and Trenton Councilwoman Crystal Feliciano for their inspiring words and to our Security, Media Resources, Environmental Services, and Food and Nutrition teams for helping us celebrate our families, friends, and neighbors!

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ulviyya Turabova, an internal medicine physician, to Capital Health Primary Care – Nottingham. Dr. Turabova completed her residency in internal medicine at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey. She received her medical degree from Azerbaijan Medical University in Baku, Azerbaijan. She is fluent in Azerbaijani, Turkish and Russian.

Last Friday, Dr. Cataldo Doria and Dr. Ajay Choudhri performed the first liver histotripsy procedure in the region, marking a major milestone for Capital Health, our Cancer Center, and most importantly, patients in the community. This non-invasive procedure, which uses ultrasound energy to destroy targeted tumors, was successful thanks to the skill and dedication of our expert team, who continue to demonstrate Capital Health’s focus on providing the most advanced treatments possible. Last week, we officially cut the ribbon on our new Capital Health Primary Care – New Hope office, located at 6542-H Lower York Road in New Hope, PA. Capital Health President and CEO Al Maghazehe and members of the senior leadership team, along with Dr. Andrew Davenport and staff from the new office, welcomed special guests that included representatives from the Lower Bucks Chamber of Commerce Mihika Patel (member), Bill Brady (member), Rick Myers (acting executive director), Ryan Gordon (board president), and Chi Chi Ahia (incoming board president); Pete Couchman, executive director of Bowman’s Wildflower Preserve; Alex Mauro, staff assistant to Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick; Caroline Williams, Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership; Kate Zimmerman, Bucks County Community College; and first responders from New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company, Central Bucks EMS, and Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad.
