Today, we have the honor of Celebrating the Life of Captain Raymond W. Taylor, Sr. As you can see from the displays throughout our funeral home, Ray lived a tremendous life filled with wonderful memories of family, numerous achievements, and over 40 years of service to the Pennsauken Township Police Department. Full obituary below.
Raymond William Taylor, Sr., age 82 of Mount Laurel, passed away at his home on January 12, 2026. He was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey on May 16, 1943 to the late William W. and Mary E. (nee Smith) Taylor.
Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee Wilson); Devoted father of Missy Taylor (George), Raymond W. Taylor Jr. (Donna), Connie Taylor, Fred Taylor (Kim), JoAnna Kemmerle (Joe) and Bobbie Beitz-DiMartinis (Michael); Loving grandfather of Crysta, Garrett, Ray J., Josh, Jessica, Tyler, Rebekah, Fred, Madelyn, Ashley, Sofia and Bobbie Jean and great grandfather of Alexa, Jaxen, Skylar and Kayden; Dear brother of the late Mary McKenzie and Jack Taylor.
Prior to his retirement, Ray was an officer in the Pennsauken Police Department, retiring at the rank of Captain after 40 years of service. An avid bowler, hunter and outdoorsman, he was also a Shriner as well as a Mason Emeritus with the Merchantville Lodge #119. Ray was also a huge Eagles and Phillies fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Monday from 5 to 8 PM, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 PM and Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Arlington Mausoleum in Pennsauken.
