Our Story
Ride to Walk was developed primarily as an Equine Therapeutic Riding Facility for children with neurological disabilities. As the property has developed, it transformed into a perfect location to host various Special Events as well. Today, Ride to Walk performs Equine Therapy on adults and children with disabilities including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism spectrum disorder, blunt force trauma, developmental delay, and more. Working with horses allows people with disabilities to gain a sense of efficacy, confidence, and empowerment. It also builds physical strength along with the extra exercises we do with our riders. In addition to this, they gain stronger social skills as they work with the therapists and side walkers. Ride to Walk in a non-profit organization which operates mainly from a group of volunteers. To raise funds, we offer many other events and services, such as fishing at our pond, a tack shack which offers used gear, and our yearly โBoots and Scootsโ fundraiser event.
