✨ July Birth Stories at Wild Rose Midwifery ✨
July was a month full of beautiful births, strong mamas, and powerful stories. We’re honored to share a glimpse into the sacred journeys that unfolded this month:
🌸 Liliane
Born on her due date, Liliane’s arrival was especially meaningful. Her parents experienced a heartbreaking late-term loss with her big sister, a grief that shaped their journey with her. Through pregnancy, Liliane’s mama stayed deeply connected to her body and baby. On birth day, she labored like the goddess she is—and her daddy (a first-time dad!) caught her like a pro, on the very day he predicted. Liliane is a vibrant, joyful blessing after such a storm.
🚗 Lori
Little Miss Lori made her debut with urgency! She was almost born on the side of the road in Destin—on the way back from a chiropractor’s appointment. Her mama made it home just 20 minutes before her birth, with dad pulling in 5 minutes later, Midwife Meg close behind… and then came Lori! She slid into the world as baby number 50 at Wild Rose Midwifery. What a wild and wonderful ride!
🏡 Theodore
Sweet Teddy was born to first-time parents in the comfort of their home. He cruised through labor but kept us guessing during the pushing stage—taking his time, as big babies often do. His parents’ joy, excitement, and trust in the process made it such a fun and fulfilling birth to attend.
🌿 Timber Reign
Timber’s birth was one of redemption and deep faith. After the loss of his big brother Cedar, who passed at 18 months old, Timber’s parents welcomed him with open hearts and surrendered spirits. His mama labored gracefully, grounded in prayer and trust. His daddy never left her side. It was an honor to witness their strength and walk alongside them as prayer warriors. A truly sacred story.

Each of these families became part of the Wild Rose family. Each birth was unique, sacred, and deeply personal—stories we are honored to witness, even if we can never fully share them as they were lived.

🌹Wild Rose Midwifery Annual Stats🌹
Reporting Period: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025
Every year, licensed midwives in Florida report their annual stats.
Here’s a look at what the past year looked like at Wild Rose Midwifery:
✨48 families were welcomed into care
✨31 families had safe beautiful home births
✨4 of those 31 were first time mamas 💪🏾
Out of those 31 births we had:
✨17 water births
✨14 land births
💪🏾2 successful VBACs
🩷19 girls
🩵12 boys
😱1 was a surprise breech
✔️0 emergent labor transfers
✔️0 postpartum transfers
✨Biggest baby: 10 lbs
✨Smallest baby: 5 lbs 15 oz
🤍9 of our families returned for another journey with Midwife Meagan 🫶🏾
7 families had hospital births, including:
✨3 unmedicated vaginal births (2 preeclampsia and 1 meconium in the water during early labor)
✨3 C-sections due to preeclampsia, placental abruption, and an additional complication preventing vaginal birth.
✨1 elective C-section
🤍We walked alongside 6 families that experienced early pregnancy loss.
✌🏾The remaining 4 families moved away or transferred care
This year has been full of strength, growth, and sacred beginnings. Thank you to every family who trusted us to walk beside you.

Sweet postpartum visits…although this isn’t any Midwives most favorite thing to do, we get it done when requested while your nurse or snuggle your baby 🤍

✨ Newborn Metabolic Screening — Done with Ease, Right at Home ✨
Did you know that your baby can receive their Newborn Metabolic Screening in the comfort of your home within the first 72 hours after birth?
As part of your in-home postpartum appointment, we offer this optional yet important screening alongside a full wellness check for your little one.
💉 The Newborn Metabolic Screening is a simple heel prick test that screens for at least 55 different metabolic, hormonal, and genetic conditions.
Here’s what’s included in your baby’s visit:
🩸 Metabolic Screening – Early detection of over 55 conditions
🫀 CCHD Screening – A pulse oximetry test to check for critical congenital heart disease
🌞 Jaundice Check – A head to toe assessment checking your baby for yellowing of their skin where we then discuss normal and what to look out for
👶 Head-to-Toe Assessment – A thorough exam to ensure baby is thriving, Monitoring baby’s growth, feeding, wet and dirty diapers- it is common to see a slight weight drop at this appointment.
This gentle, thoughtful care is all done without you ever needing to leave the cozy space you’ve created to welcome your new baby.
It’s just one more way we support you in your journey through early postpartum life—with convenience, compassion, and connection. 💛

Your dream team 👶🏼🤍

Yesterday we got to witness another beautiful birth. One strong determined momma, one extremely supportive dad and this team. A chunky little 9 1/2 pound babe joined us safely at home shortly after noon and It was such a beautiful moment. (Video will be shared)
We were exhausted but we are so freakin’ proud of them.
I’m so thankful that I got to do this birth with these women.

Tiny feet, big emotions. 💕

Postpartum visits at Wild Rose are always a little bittersweet. We fall in love with these growing families—watching bellies bloom into babies and strong, powerful mothers step fully into their new roles.

And eventually… those tiny feet toddle off into the world, leaving our visits behind.

Every postpartum check-in is a celebration of healing, connection, and resilience. It’s laughter, tears, feeding wins, sleep struggles, and endless baby snuggles. It’s also a soft goodbye—for now—to a sacred chapter.

To the mamas who trusted us to walk this journey with you: we are endlessly honored.
