Today is Mast Cell Awareness Day.

Mast cells are the cells in the body responsible for immediate allergy responses.

Mast Cell issues, such as MCAS, are commonly seen with other issues such as EDS/HSD and POTS/IST.

The American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology lists common symptoms associated with allergy responses:

➡Heart related symptoms: rapid pulse, low blood pressure and passing out
➡Skin related symptoms: itching, hives, swelling and skin turning red
➡Lung related symptoms: wheezing, shortness of breath and harsh noise when breathing that occurs with throat swelling.
➡Gastrointestinal tract symptoms: diarrhea, nausea with vomiting and crampy abdominal pain.
