Alright patients of TDI…
You KNOW how your doctor feels about women in medicine. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
But maybe you don’t know… since 2018 my husband (Mr. Dr. Tarantola) and I, with other wonderful volunteers, have been running a nonprofit organization, 501(c)3 registered in the state of Florida… ScrubCaps for a Cause.
This organization raises funds to provide scholarships for women in medical school, training to become a physician or surgeon.
Women were not always allowed to do this. To even APPLY for medical school. I am INCREDIBLY grateful to stand on the shoulders of many strong women who went before me, and the men who supported their bid on their path to becoming physicians and surgeons.
Women belong in medicine. We care for our patients and steward teams for great patient outcomes. I am incredibly grateful that in today’s day and age I can own my own practice and take care of patients in this area. I’m incredibly grateful for my education.
When I was in medical school, I was honored to receive a scholarship, but still graduated with a significant amount of debt. It has been my goal to GIVE BACK and help the women who are following in my footsteps. To date, this foundation has awarded over $130,000 in scholarships to meet this goal. We will keep going!
