What is a doula?
What is a doula? Well, technically speaking, a doula is a trained, non-medical person who assists families and offers continuous support to birthing people during and after childbirth. But, to me, a doula is much more. A doula can be your friend, confidant, companion. When you choose to have your birth attended by a doula, you are welcoming another person in to one of the most important and intimate moments of your life, and for me that is one of the greatest honors. The birth of a baby, ever how it comes to a person, is a beautiful and sacred event. My job is to ensure you are respected, informed, supported, and loved during this important time in your life.
