Gail Woods, PE: Paving the Way for Safer, More Accessible Transportation
As part of our series highlighting Black leaders, planners, and community organizers who have been directly involved in Florida Bicycle Association’s work, we are proud to feature Gail Woods, PE.
Gail is a dedicated member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Bicycle Association and a Vice President at Gannett Fleming | TranSystems.
A graduate of the Florida A&M University/Florida State University College of Engineering, Gail is an active member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and a recipient of the WTS Rosa Parks International Leadership Award. She is also a fellow of the Florida Engineering Society, underscoring her commitment to engineering excellence. Gail also serves on Florida’s GreenBook Committee, advocating for safer and more inclusive roadway standards.
With a deep understanding of the Florida Department of Transportation’s processes and procedures, Gail has successfully managed and designed numerous transportation projects across the state. Her leadership ensures that infrastructure projects not only meet technical standards but also prioritize accessibility and multimodal connectivity.
Gail's commitment to safer streets and complete communities aligns with the Florida Bicycle Association’s mission to improve conditions for people who want or need to bicycle. We are honored to have Gail’s expertise and leadership guiding our work.
