It's easy to look back and question decisions you have made in the past, but it’s unfair to punish yourself for them.
You can’t blame yourself for not knowing back then what you know now, and the truth is you made each decision for a reason based on how you were feeling at the time.
As we grow up, we learn and we evolve.
Maybe the person you are now would have done things differently back then, or maybe you are the person you are now because of the decisions you made
back then ..

Treatment Team

Our approach is to treat the whole person. We work with our clients to develop a treatment plan using evidence-based interventions. Some of the concerns that we help our clients with include anxiety and depression, but we also help our clients with deep rooted, unresolved issues with self (i.e., eating disorders, trauma, and substance abuse) and others (i.e, coupes and family problems).

Our clients have several options to meet their goals. In addition to individual therapy, our clients can attend our Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups which provides a non-judgemental, safe environment to develop skills like Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Tolerating Distress, and Skills in Relationships. We have separate groups for teens and adults. Our teen group is facilitated by Casey Becker, LMHC, while our adult groups are coordinated by Catherine Loveless, LMHC.

In addition to DBT, we are the only counseling facility on the gulf coast that offers Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). EFT is a warm, cooperative form of therapy that helps our clients resolve deep conflicts and improve their connections in their relationships with partners and within their families. Some of the comments we hear from our clients is things like, “We used to feel like roommates, but now we are actually friends” and “For the first time in my life, I’m not alone.” Our client's who desire their relationships to be safer and more meaningful can include EFT in their treatment plan. Our ICEEFT Certified EFT therapist is Virginia Walls, LMHC.
