we get into an argument or someone does something we don’t like and we cut them off. or taking it even further, “cancelling” them within our friend groups. there’s a place for cut offs within relationships that are harmful. but, there’s also room for repair. sometimes we never learned how to truly have repair in relationships, when as kids maybe your parents fought and then brushed it under the rug, or blew up and then walked on eggshells around each other.

true repair can actually strengthen relationships stronger than they were before.

in therapy, we can work on learning how to repair, how to set boundaries, or even work on having a better relationship in relationship counseling.

it’s a common thing that will come up for clients. that maybe no one has listened before or has made you feel like a burden. so when within therapy, you feel like you’ve shared too much or that it’s a burden to be with you. but every story I hear, every win or loss, every vulnerability shared, I’m so grateful to be a part of it. thank you for allowing me to witness you on this journey 🫶🏼

we learn hyperindependence as safety. that dying inside is somehow safer than reaching out. but we need community; it’s how we survive.

sometimes therapy is about learning how to reach out again. how to ask for what we need. learning that needing things doesn’t mean we are a burden.

reaching out for therapy is sometimes a great first step. it’s honoring that inner voice that says “I can’t do this alone anymore.” then, we help expand your support network from there.

you are not alone. if you’re ready to start therapy in florida, schedule a free consult online at counselinginpensacola.com 🫶🏼

it’s world bee day! Aka the best day! because bees are so important 🐝 we have to raise education about bees and how lovely & important they are. they aren’t something we need to be afraid of. 🫶🏼 i chose facts today that really show how important bees are to our ecosystem but there’s so much more we can learn about how INCREDIBLE they are.
