Our residents enjoyed being outside today doing a little gardening. Gardens need nurturing hands and consistent attention - just like those with dementia benefit from compassionate support and daily encouragement.

Today we honored a special Veteran at our facility, W. Hill. Once a sailor, always a hero. Your courage and kindness continue to inspire calm waters in every heart. From the decks of the Navy to the halls of our home, W. Hill reminds us that true service never ends. A special thank you to Dawn Carroll for presenting our American flag to this special man.

Veteran's Day can be deeply moving for residents with dementia. The sights and sounds of military tributes may unlock long - buried memories - sometimes joyful, sometimes emotional. As caregivers, we celebrate their service with sensitivity, ensuring each resident feels safe, supported, and honored in their own way. Thank you Maria and Emerald Coast Hospice, Joe Occhipinti and the Jazz Abouts, Dawn Carroll, family members and staff for an amazing day.

Feeding the birds gives a sense of caring for something beyond oneself- an important feeling for those with dementia, who often thrive when given opportunities to nurture and connect. We had so much fun this afternoon.
