Meet Molli Ray, RN, BSN. She is one of our amazing nurses at the ASC. Molli has been part of the GCPS family for years, first working at our main office as a Patient Care Coordinator from 2018 to 2021 and now serving as a Registered Nurse in pre-op and recovery since October 2024. She takes care of patients before and after surgery, making sure their experience is safe and comfortable.

Molli says her favorite part of working at GCPS is being a part of each patient’s surgical journey and working alongside such a supportive team.

Born and raised in Pensacola, she just got married in September 2024. When she is not caring for patients, you can usually find Molli and her husband out on the water with their black lab, Angus, or spending time with their Scottish fold cat, Tuna, who looks just like Puss in Boots. Her favorite food is sushi from Dharma Blue, especially the Sunset Roll and Dharma Roll, paired with an extra dirty martini. 🍣🍸🐾

These intricate silver charms are ex-votos—small devotional offerings left at churches and shrines. This particular display hangs at Basilica Sant’Antonio, a centuries-old church in Sorrento, Italy.

Each one represents a part of the body, symbolizing prayers for healing or gratitude for recovery. For example:

👁 Eyes – for restored sight or protection of vision
💗 Lungs – for breath and life
👂 Ears – for hearing restored
👩‍🍼 Breasts – often connected to maternal health or healing from a breast-related ailment or injury

Ex-votos have been used for centuries across Europe, Latin America, and the Mediterranean, blending faith, art, and medicine. They’re tangible reminders of how deeply people have always longed for health, wholeness, and miracles.

Standing before a collection like this is humbling—it’s not just metal, but a museum of human hope and resilience.

Derived from the Latin phrase ex-Vito meaning “from a vow,” these objects serve as a tangible symbol of faith and a thank you for received grace.
