Early this morning we watched another powerful VBAC unfold safely, calmly, and beautifully at home. There is something incredibly moving about witnessing a woman step into her strength after carrying the weight of fear, doubt, and outside opinions surrounding birth after cesarean.
At Wild Rose, we believe that safe, low-risk VBACs deserve support, education, and individualized care. With proper screening, collaboration with our supporting OB, careful monitoring, and a healthy low-risk pregnancy, many women can go on to birth vaginally safely and successfully.
But before any of that…comes belief.
Believing in yourself is step one.
Learning to quiet the fear and block out the negativity surrounding VBACs.
Locking in on the positive.
Trusting that your body is not broken.
As Midwives, we stay attentive. We monitor carefully, remain aware of shifts, and hold space for both safety and empowerment every step of the way. Watching a momma move through labor and finally meet her baby after wondering if she could really do it…it never gets old.
For me, the moment a VBAC baby lands safely in my hands and I get to hold space and a baby while mom pauses for a moment and takes it all in feels like watching years of doubt melt away all at once. What’s left is strength, tears, healing, and empowerment.
Never underestimate what your body is capable of.
Never stop believing in yourself.
And never doubt the power of being supported, seen, heard, loved, and safe while you bring your baby earth side. 🤍
