Cassidy Penn it’s hard to give a haircut over the phone or I’d ask you more questions. If I might I’ll leave you with a historical anecdote about lumbar discs:

Henry Ford invented the assembly line and one of his biggest problems at first was the worker attrition because of back pain when standing for too long performing their tasks. One worker didn’t seem to have a problem. When he questioned the worker, the worker explained that because there was a small electrical box near his workstation, he would put one foot up on it, and then when his back hurt he would switch feet.

Ford ordered footrests be put at every station and productivity increased.

Later, those workers went to the bar. And this Is before bar stools. So they all stood there at the bar but Then their back started hurting. So they went home. And the bartender is like hmmmmm so he puts a brass rail on the bottom of the bar for patrons to put one foot on to relieve the disc pressure on their lower back. That’s the purpose of the brass rail on the bottom of a bar!! 😀😀 how much fun trivia right?

Really the point is the nucleus of the disc is like a gel and when you force it one way or another it starts to bleed little chemicals, metalloproteins and nitrates mostly, that inflame the muscles and the nerves on that side. It’s possible that the disc could actually touch the nerve directly, but you’d know that s**t IMMEDIATELY and you’d fall to the ground as if shot.

So, alleviate the constant ache of a distressed disc by constantly shifting your position whether sitting or standing. Every 10 minutes. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
