New on-the-job trainings are officially underway for our PALS students!

Matthew is getting hands-on experience bagging groceries, stocking shelves, and helping keep Apple Market Inc. clean and organized.

Brooke is taking on a variety of tasks at the Bear Levin Studer Family YMCA, building skills and confidence along the way.

Apple Market and the Y continue to be incredible community partners, and we’re truly grateful for their ongoing support of our PALS program and students.

Barrett McClean’s son, Holden, was born with a rare genetic disorder. In search of a place where he could receive therapy, their family found open, compassionate arms at The Arc Gateway. Today, Barrett is proudly serving his third term on The Arc Gateway Board of Directors.

Barrett is the “owner-operator and one-man band” behind Barrett McClean Photography, and he believes that “family portraits are the finest art there is.” Alongside his service to The Arc Gateway, Barrett has served on school advisory committees at Escambia Westgate, Brown Barge, and Scenic Heights. He also coached city league volleyball for 10 seasons!

We’re incredibly grateful to have Barrett on our Agency Board and for the heart, care, and commitment he brings to our mission.

For 40 years, MaryAnn Bickerstaff has been part of the fabric of The Arc Gateway. Over the years, she has worn many hats, always showing up with care, consistency, and a genuine love for the people and families we serve.

Today, as our Children’s Services Director, MaryAnn continues to pour that same heart into her work. Her experience runs deep, but what truly stands out is the way she connects with others and makes people feel seen, supported, and understood.

Whether she’s leading with intention or laughing alongside the people around her, MaryAnn brings warmth and joy into every space she enters. We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing person she is, for her 40 years with The Arc Gateway, and for the countless moments, big and small, that have shaped our community because of her.

Tracy Carreola serves as Secretary on our Agency Board of Directors. Her daughter, Chelsea, has been part of The Arc Gateway family for three decades. After seeing firsthand the compassion and life-changing impact The Arc Gateway provides, Tracy’s involvement grew “from gratitude and a desire to help ensure other families receive the same support and opportunities.”

Along with her involvement and advocacy for The Arc Gateway, Tracy owns Community Experiences LLC, an agency that serves people with disabilities. She leads the agency each day with compassion and a strong commitment to person-centered care.

Looking ahead, Tracy hopes for a community where inclusion is the norm. “I want every person, regardless of ability, to have meaningful opportunities, strong support, and a place where they feel valued.” We are incredibly grateful for Tracy’s service, commitment, and the many ways she continues to help move our mission forward.

We want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out to our Wreaths of Joy Gala a few weeks ago and made it such a special night. From start to finish, it was an incredible evening filled with community, generosity, and holiday spirit.

We are so grateful to our amazing sponsors for their continued support and commitment to making this event possible. Your generosity truly helps bring this night to life and supports the work we do year-round.

The food and entertainment were outstanding, and both the silent and live auctions were a huge success.

Enjoy these photos from Transcending Dreams Photography , who captured the evening beautifully. We are so appreciative of their work and for helping us relive such a memorable night.

From Iowa to Pensacola, Florida! Aaron Jones’s story reflects just how far-reaching The Arc’s impact can be. Aaron’s brother was a client of The Arc in their local community in Iowa, and today Aaron serves as Treasurer of The Arc Gateway’s Board of Directors.

Aaron is a commercial lender with ServisFirst Bank, where he is passionate about helping individuals and organizations acquire and grow their businesses. Beyond his work on our Agency Board, Aaron is also an active member of the Krewe of Andres de Pez.

We are deeply grateful for Aaron and for the time, care, and leadership he brings to strengthening our mission and supporting the individuals and families we serve.

She got the job! Congratulations, Faith!

Faith, a PALS Graduate, has accepted a barista position at Perfect Blend Coffee Company in Navarre, FL.

Over the past year, Faith has worked with the PALS Program to prepare for employment in a competitive, integrated setting. At PALS, Faith completed coursework on topics such as retail service, communication, and self-advocacy. She also completed a 17-week on-the-job (OJT) experience at a local clothing store, where she received additional training and hands-on experience. We are thrilled to see Faith’s hard work and dedication have finally paid off!

Please show your support for Faith and A Perfect Blend Coffee Company by stopping by and ordering a craft beverage or gluten-free muffin; we recommend the Almond Joy coffee. Yum!

We would also like to thank A Perfect Blend Coffee Company/Across the Board Therapy Services for their ongoing support and partnership with Arc Gateway, Inc.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Tree of Lights ceremony and helped make the evening so special!

The In Memory and In Honor lights were purchased to remember loved ones and celebrate people who hold a special place in our lives, creating a meaningful tribute that shines throughout the season. The Thank You names recognize the individuals and organizations whose support made Tree of Lights possible and who have supported The Arc Gateway throughout the past year. We are deeply grateful for every tribute, every act of generosity, and the community that continues to stand with The Arc Gateway.
