Help spread the word about our clean up day on May 2nd. Coffee and donuts for our volunteers! We hope to see you there.

Take special note of the items NOT accepted. We will have someone monitoring the dumpster so we don't get fined.

πŸ“£ It's almost that time again! Monthly neighborhood meetings start in 1 week. Some things to know:
⭐️ This first meeting is going to be about planning the year. We would have held a planning meeting a couple weeks ago, but the folks in our house have been sick. Hope you all avoided the junk going around this season!
⭐️ Planning is going to include picking some new board members. La Velle and I will get lonely if a couple of you don't join us. I stepped in as the President when Bob retired, but I'm not married to it. We can fill the President, Vice President, and Treasurer positions, depending which position I need to fill.
⭐️ I have brainstormed a bunch of ideas, but it will take people stepping into some new roles. A few areas you may consider helping include taking charge of the yard of the month awards, planning guest speakers, hosting an event, heading up social media posts, or being part of a team that canvases the neighborhood to share information and welcomes new residents.
⭐️ Let us know how you think we can improve our neighborhood, as well as how YOU WANT TO HELP make it happen. Keep in mind our limited budget. Can't make it to the meeting? Drop a comment below so we can include it in our planning session.
⭐️ I'm looking for one or two people who are crafty--specifically if you have the ability to work a Cricut machine and adhesive vinyl. We bought supplies with our grant money to make more signs for things like our Yard of the Month awards. It is an easy way to help out if you don't want to run an event or sit on the board.

I'm pretty sure I left something off, but this is already a long post. Thanks for reading this far. I hope to see all of you next week.

Snowstorm and Road Condition Update

Dec. 13, 2025 (Peoria, IL) Steady snowfall across the City this morning is resulting in snow-covered roads and slick driving conditions. Public Works crews are actively treating and plowing main arterial routes and will continue focusing on these roadways throughout the day to maintain traffic flow and safety.

Forecasts continue to project total snowfall accumulations of 3-6 inches today, with the heaviest snowfall expected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Travel during this timeframe is strongly discouraged. Residents are urged to adjust travel plans and remain at home during peak snowfall, if possible. Snow is expected to taper off around 3 p.m.

Motorists who must travel should allow extra time, reduce speeds, and exercise extreme caution. Please be mindful of snowplows and give crews adequate space as they work to keep roadways passable and restore safe driving conditions.

Treatment of residential streets will resume once at least 2 inches of snow have accumulated, arterial routes have been cleared, and snowfall has ended.

Drivers are reminded to remain alert and use caution throughout the day, as conditions change. For more information about the City’s winter operations, please call 309-494-8850.

Our last meeting of 2025 is tonight! Come on over and hear from our guest speaker from PCAPS. We will also have our Councilman in attendance to share an update on the city budget.
Your neighbors asked for tacos tonight instead of our usual end of year potluck, so come hungry. If you want to bring something to share, we are asking you contribute your favorite salsa.
If you are able, we ask that you bring a non-perishable food item as a donation to Mt. Calvary's food pantry. They generously let us have use of their facility and it is our way of saying thank you.
See you tonight!

The scammers are calling a lot of people today in Peoria County and using different Sheriff's Office employees' names, saying you have a warrant. One of the numbers they are using is 309-617-1187. THIS IS A SCAM.

We don't normally have a speaker at our final meeting of the year, but PCAPS has generously agreed to come to our meeting to address the stray cat issue our neighbors brought up at the October meeting.
Don't forget we are also having a taco bar instead of a potluck. If you want to contribute, bring your favorite salsa to share!

Our last meeting of 2025 is next month! By request, we are switching up our year-end potluck and setting up a taco bar.
We may have a guest speaker to address the stray cat issue in our neighborhood--I'm waiting to hear back. More details to come about the speaker and the meal. Put November 13th on your calendar and join us at 7:00pm.
