Central Illinois FRIENDS is a regional non-profit service organization which is committed to preventing the spread of HIV and other STI related cases through initiatives that provide support for people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. FRIENDS brings together people from a widely diverse set of backgrounds and philosophies who provide support services for HIV and AIDS patients including their families. These services reach the men, women, and children in Peoria, Woodford, Tazewell, Marshall, Putnam, Stark, LaSalle, Knox, Fulton, McLean, Mason, McDonough, Hancock, Henderson, Livingston, and Warren Counties. Friends has provided direct support services and resources to thousands of individuals throughout Central Illinois. Friends was created by a very small group of concerned citizens of Peoria in 1990 to help those diagnosed with AIDS be as comfortable as possible.
