We know waiting for meals can feel a little long, so we love keeping our dining room lively with fun activities while drinks and meals are served. 🥤✨ On this day, our residents created their own lava lamps—turning wait time into smiles, creativity, and conversation!

Our residents sure did — and they decided the best way to celebrate was by throwing whipped cream pies in the faces of some of their favorite employees!

Better late than never! 🎊 Our New Year’s Eve celebration video is finally here—because when you’re having that much fun, time flies. Thank you to our incredible team and residents for making it such a special night.

Ever wonder how we come up with all our fun and meaningful activities for our residents?

It’s truly a team effort! 💙

Our Activities Team starts by creating a baseline program, which is then shared with our interdisciplinary team for feedback and fresh ideas. From there, our Administrator and Activity Director sit down with our residents to review upcoming events—making room for their suggestions, adjustments, and creative twists.

And honestly… our residents are the real inspiration. ✨

Some of their ideas for January include:

🥧 January 5 – Whipped Cream Day: adding a “pie a staff member” activity

👮 January 9 – Law Enforcement Day: creating thank-you cards for our local law enforcement

✍️ January 23 – Handwriting Day: making cards for children at St. Jude’s

🎄 Merry Christmas from Accolade! 🎄

This morning, our Director of Nursing chose to spend her Christmas with our residents and team, coming in during both third and staying through day shift to treat our amazing team members to a warm breakfast of biscuits and gravy with fresh fruit—a small way to say thank you for all they do each day.

We also made sure our residents enjoyed a special breakfast of their own. During Resident Council, they requested donuts and juice, and we were happy to make that happen! 🍩🥤

If you have a loved one with us, please encourage them to join our Resident Council meetings, held the last Monday of every month at 11:00 AM. We truly value resident feedback and love hearing ideas on how we can continue to improve their home.
