Sophia Vincere Licensed Massage Therapist Find me at Well Kneaded in Peoria! 😌 I initially started the massage therapy program at MTI in 2020, only 3 days before the lock-down was put into effect.

This led the school to convert a lot of their courses to remote learning. By the time we were allowed to go on campus, we were nearing graduation, and I felt I had missed out on a lot of important aspects of my future career trying to take care of my children and study. Despite the struggle with the first year, my passion for massage therapy had solidified. I decided to leave before graduating and attend the following year. When I reentered the campus doors, I was met with a richer curriculum with far more in-depth books covering kinesiology, nutrition, anatomy and pathology. Now that I have been in the field for over 2 years, I have found that my greatest passion lies in isolated and medical work. People frequently come to me to aid with their TMJ, rotator cuff and hip dysfunctions, and impinged nerves. While the medical side of massage brings me great joy, there is also nothing like having an anxious or stressed client leave feeling like a new person.

πŸŽƒ HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOLKS πŸŽƒ

Hope everyone is having a safe and spooktacular holiday!
Here is a loving reminder to watch out for that ⚰️ZOMBIEπŸ§Ÿβ€β™€οΈ posture!

Pectoralis minor crosses over the nerves that nourish the muscles in your arms and hands. When they become too tense, from hunching over, they can impinge these nerves, causing tingling, numbness, and shooting pain all the way down to your fingers. Tight pecs and also lead to overstretched back muscles! OUCH! If you experience any of these symptoms, I recommend getting a massage right away, no matter how short the session is!

You can avoid this by doing cactus or corner pec stretches 1 - 2 times a day!
