We’re excited to start using our new Fitness Center for our FIT Functional Fitness® classes. This program helps residents stay active while working on strength, balance, flexibility and overall wellness.

Our FIT Functional Fitness® programs include a variety of exercises like seated strength training, balance work, stretching and pedal endurance. These classes help residents maintain mobility, build confidence, support heart health and simply keep their bodies moving. Everyone is welcome to join, and exercises can be adapted so residents can participate at their own pace.

Residents have also been enjoying the equipment in the Fitness Center, including the NuStep machines, treadmill, free weights and more. In addition, our in-house physical therapy team, EmpowerMe, has been utilizing the space as well, making the Fitness Center a great place for residents to focus on movement, recovery and overall health.

We love seeing residents come together, encourage one another and stay active. The new Fitness Center has already become a great space for wellness in our community. 💪

We had the sweetest visitor at Garden Ridge this week.

Chaplain James with Agave Hospice and Palliative Care generously shared his tiny sidekick, Bentley, an adorable teacup Yorkie, with our Garden Ridge residents. From the moment Bentley arrived, faces lit up.

Pet therapy is much more than cuddles, though there were plenty of those. Spending time with therapy animals can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, ease feelings of loneliness and spark meaningful memories and conversations. For many senior adults, holding or petting a dog brings back stories of beloved pets from years past, and those moments of connection are priceless.

Thank you to Chaplain James and Bentley for sharing your time, comfort and joy with our Garden Ridge community. We look forward to your next visit.

Love was in the air at Garden Ridge as we celebrated Valentine's Day in a sweet style. Residents enjoyed a festive photobooth sponsored by Agave Hospice, delicious appetizers, cake, drinks, and a special visit from Cupid himself. We ended the day on a high note with wonderful live music by Randolph, our favorite entertainer!
