As the owner of Hang Ten Calm Rooms, I get texts from people with anxiety or autism and texts or emails from parents of kiddos with anxiety or autism telling me they wish the event they were at had a calm room at it because it's uncomfortable for those with sensory sensitivities. What kind of upcoming events could you see a calm room being needed at this year?

We are excited to share with you that Hang Ten Calm Rooms will be providing a calm room and calm bag sensory kits at the Peoria Civic Center on April 22nd for the Sun Foundation's Clean Water Celebration!

It is an interactive day of learning and fun with keynote speakers and lots of booths to learn and engage with. You can come with a school or home school group or just as a family. We love being a part of this day! Hope to see you there!

Last week we received some sad news. Our good friend, Tim Beck, passed on. He was a big supporter of Hang Ten Calm Rooms and was crucial to our start as he did our logo. It was a big deal to us to have such a talented and well known artist like Tim Beck do the art for Hang Ten. Tim was known internationally as a tattoo artist but also known regionally and locally as a sincere, kind, and loving person. He will be sorely missed and we are in debt for his support of Hang Ten Calm Rooms. Rest in Peace, brother. Until we see you again, Tim.

As the need for calming spaces outpaces the solutions, we're working hard on getting calm rooms permanently installed in large venues such as arenas, theaters, sporting complexes, race tracks, and convention halls.

It is exciting and surreal to get to work with AI and input ideas and get whole different ideas back. Our final designs are going to look much cooler thanks to the technology we have to play with! Which one would you want to hang out in? 🤙

Celebrate with us! We're officially an LLC!
It's official, Hang Ten Calm Rooms is now a Limited Liability Company, and we're bursting with excitement to share this milestone with you!

For those who haven't experienced the magic of our Calm Rooms, here's what we do:

✨ We bring portable havens of serenity to large events, offering a safe space for anyone overwhelmed by sights, sounds, or crowds. Think music festivals, conferences, sporting events – wherever anxiety might spike or someone with sensory sensitivities could be overwhelmed, we're there with soothing lights, calming sounds, and a place for space.

And that's not all! We also build permanent Calm Rooms in schools, libraries, and other community spaces. This way, students, employees, and visitors alike can access a moment of peace right when they need it most.

Becoming an LLC is a huge step forward in our mission to spread calm across Central Illinois, and eventually widen our horizon to the state and the country. It means more resources, more reach, and more opportunities to impact lives.

We're grateful for your support along the way, and we can't wait to see what the future holds. Together, let's make the world a little quieter, a little brighter, and a whole lot calmer.

Hang Ten Calm Rooms at Big Picture Street Festival from 10-4! It’s a great day to be outside and around our community and it’s even better knowing if you are feeling overwhelmed from sensory stimulation or social anxiety you can push that red button and escape to the calm room for a reset!
