Augusts calendar gives us some information on Sun Salutations and this practice really helps me in the morning to be focused and connect with nature. We did a Sun salutations during Summer Solstice lead by Sue Orris and it was magical. It was over cast and as we call to the sun, he peeked out from the clouds to greet us and shine down upon us

For those of you who are celebrating today as their first harvest, may your harvest be plentiful! I’d love to see your gardens if you have any growth. Most my plants died, my Aloe, lavender, rosemary, sweet potatoes vine, mint, and oregano are all that’s left.

For those looking to learn:
Lughnasagh is pronounced “loo-nas-ah” and is typically, though not always, celebrated on the 1st of August. It is festival that celebrates the first harvest of the season where we give thanks to Mother Earth for beginning the harvest season. Giving offerings of first fruits or decorating your alter with grains, bread, fruits and vegetables is the tradition.
In Gaelic, Lugh= the Irish harvest god and Nasagh= festival/gathering. Dolls of corn husk, wheat, or straw were made to represent the sun god. Celebrations included ritual dancing, trading, feasting, athletic contest/competitions and in the past a sacrificial bull 🐂 but don’t worry, we don’t do that anymore…

To those celebrating their father’s who may have left this world. I am lucky to have mine, he isn’t on Facebook, but I reminded him I loved him by calling him too early and waking him up to tell him he is a good dad and I love him 💗

I bet my cats wonder why I sit here at my desk angry and cursing all the time… that’s probably why they are always trying to give me therapy when I’m on the computer or sitting in my seat to prevent me from working…. They think to themselves, “silly human, why do you always sit here and be angry when you could be petting me?”

I CHALLENGE you all to try this interesting experiment!

You put your phone in grayscale for a week and track how much your screen time goes down. For an iPhone you go to settings, accessibility, display and text size, scroll down to color filters, activate switch and check the grayscale. You’re going to want to resist, but if you’re looking for a way to stop yourself from spending so much time on social media, try it. Androids, I’ve attached a video in the comments and I hope it helps you with this challenge.
