🎉 Meet Our Newest Therapy Dog, Coco! 🐾

Hello everyone! We have someone very special we’d love for you to meet who will be joining the team early next year.

This adorable fluffball is Coco — Ginger’s baby sister and the newest member of our comfort crew at Teeters Orthodontics and Kidz-R-Kool Pediatric Dentistry! 💛

Coco is a mini-Goldendoodle, professionally trained with one very important job:
✨ to make our patients feel calm, comforted, and cared for.

Whether it’s a first-time visit or a big milestone appointment, Coco loves greeting patients with gentle snuggles, soft paws, and a whole lot of love. She brings warmth, smiles, and a wagging tail that makes every visit feel just a little easier, and a whole lot happier.

We can’t wait for you to meet Coco in person! She’s already settling in beautifully and is so excited to be part of our dental and orthodontic family.

Take a close look at these before & after photos…
Do you notice anything missing?? 👀

If you guessed two permanent teeth, you’re right! 😆
But do you know which ones?

There are many reasons an orthodontist may recommend removing permanent teeth: Crowding, bite imbalance or just creating space for proper alignment.

While aesthetics does matter, our biggest goal is to create a healthy, functional, long lasting bite.

and sometimes removing two permanent teeth is the best option for long term stability.

But it’s important to remember:
Before any permanent teeth are removed, you should always be evaluated by an orthodontist. The “why” behind extractions matters and once those teeth are gone, it’s not simple (or cheap!) to get them back.

Thanksgiving was basically designed for soft foods only anyway. 🦃
Eat all the mashed, baked, soft, warm deliciousness… avoid the crunchy rebels… and if a bracket breaks?
It’s okay. We’ll rescue it after the holiday.

Our Friend came in with a 5mm open bite, a tongue thrust habit, and a posterior crossbite.
These are things we love to address early.
Because when we work with growth, we can guide the bite and jaw to develop in a healthier, more stable way. 💪🦷

We are starting Phase I treatment with a Rapid Palatal Expander & Tongue crib.

This will help:
✅ Realign the upper arch
✅ Correct the crossbite
✅ Support proper jaw development
✅ Break the tongue thrust habit that was keeping the bite open

Once the bite is corrected and the tongue habit is under control, we’ll move into braces to finish aligning the teeth for a beautiful functional smile. 😁✨

Why start early?
Early orthodontic treatment can prevent bigger problems later and often avoids more invasive treatment in the future.
Timing really matters when we’re working with growth and habits!

Check out this amazing smile journey! 😁

Our friend came to us with her lower jaw sitting further back than the upper, which can affect both bite function and facial balance.
Because she came to us at the right time during her growth, we were able to guide the jaw forward naturally using a Twin Block appliance before starting braces. 🌟

Why start early?
Early orthodontic treatment can help the lower jaw grow properly, improve bite alignment & may prevent more complex treatment later on.
Timing is everything when we’re working with growth!!

What is a Twin Block?
A Twin Block is a comfortable, removable appliance that uses two parts to gently guide the lower jaw forward.
When worn consistently, it encourages the jaw to grow into a healthier and more balanced position.
After achieving this correction, we finished her beautiful result with braces. 🎉

and now look at that incredible change!
