The LHV Care Center and REACH kicked off a butterfly project on Earth Day and we have been celebrating these wonderful pollinators ever since. We are raising Painted Lady Butterflies. They arrived as caterpillars and are currently in their chrysalises. We hope to have 10 beautiful pollinators to release in the next couple of weeks. While we are waiting for them to emerge we created butterfly wreaths to hang on doors.

Every May, Older Americans Month recognizes the contributions of older adults and highlights aging trends. This year’s focus, “championing your health,” involves being proactive about your wellness: from keeping active, eating well and accessing preventive care to staying socially connected and supporting your mental health.

At EverTrue, we “champion the health” of our residents by offering amenities like walking paths and fitness activities, sometimes even on-site gyms or pools.

EverTrue Crossroads at Bevo Mill is now open, expanding access to affordable housing for older adults in St. Louis.

Located in the historic Bevo Mill neighborhood, this new 64-apartment community provides safe, stable housing designed to support independence, connection and well-being. With move-ins beginning May 1, it helps meet a growing need among older adults navigating the gap between longer lifespans and limited financial resources.

Developed in partnership with Tower Grove CDC, the $21M development combines affordability with thoughtful design and is expected to generate nearly $1 million in annual economic impact for the surrounding neighborhood.

This week, our residents and their penpals met for the final time after years of writing back and forth. The room was filled with laughter, stories, and more hugs than we could count.
As our students get ready to graduate, we said our “final”… or maybe not-so-final goodbyes.💙
We’re so grateful for the relationships built, the memories shared, and the joy this program has brought to everyone involved.

This National Volunteer Month, let’s meet EverTrue Meramec Bluffs residents, Stu and Linda, who have found joy and purpose through volunteering with EverTrue, each embracing their own passions to make a meaningful impact.

Linda, a trained Stephen Minister, dedicates her time to being present for others. With compassionate listening and thoughtful conversation, she supports residents navigating major life transitions. Whether sharing stories, reading poetry or offering a comforting presence, Linda creates space for connection and care.

Stu found his calling in Towne Plaza, EverTrue Meramec Bluff’s innovative Memory Support neighborhood. There he leads “Windows to the World” experiences. Through immersive videos and conversation, he invites residents to explore places like Hawaii, Italy and Norway. Stu encourages them to share memories, ask questions and engage with the journey.

Together, Stu and Linda have discovered that giving back not only enriches the lives of others but also brings a deeper sense of purpose and joy to their own.

The Care Center Residents are kicking off Spring with a Bird Watching Club! Last week we used paper towel rolls, peanut butter, and birdseed to make our own bird feeders. It is so nice to get outside and enjoy the weather and the beautiful nature around campus.

Rachel Little, Vice President of Health & Wellbeing at EverTrue, has been named to the Senior Housing News Memory Care Innovation Awards Class of 2026 in the Senior Housing & Senior Living category. This is the third consecutive year an EverTrue team member has been recognized in this category.

Rachel’s leadership exemplifies innovation in action. She partnered with Daugherty Enterprises to develop the EverTrue Better Path AI training platform, an immersive learning experience that equips caregivers with real-time coaching as they navigate realistic dementia care scenarios.

By integrating EverTrue’s StillYou® philosophy and the evidence-based CARES model, Rachel ensured the platform reflects best-in-class, person-centered care. Today, more than 400 caregivers have completed the training, with plans to scale across all EverTrue communities and services.

With more than 25 years of experience, Rachel continues to lead with purpose, advancing clinical excellence, empowering teams and improving quality of life for older adults.

LHV board chair, Pastor Michael Jones, was recognized at his last board meeting. Pastor Jones accepted a new call and is moving to Colfax, Illinois. Pastor Jones has been involved at LHV for nearly ten years. In addition to serving as board chair, he covers call and worship for Pastor Pat. He is a wonderful musician and singer and sings for the residents in Bethel Place. We will miss Pastor Michael and thank for all of his support of our community.

Appreciation for the natural world is part of everyday life at EverTrue. Our residents experience the joy of nature in many ways—through native landscaping that supports pollinators, community gardens that grow nutritious food from the earth, visits to local parks and the beauty of our campuses filled with mature trees, native plants and wildlife.

For many older adults, time in nature brings peace, connection and renewal. This Earth Day, we celebrate the ways our residents continue to care for the world around them and enjoy the simple gifts the earth provides.
