Today, I was able to experience the Salt Sanctuary and Infrared Sauna at Hope and Healing Wellness Center! I must say….it was AMAZING!! I haven’t felt this good since the day we closed our doors!!

If you have any gift certificates or punch cards, I encourage you to use them as soon as possible. As soon as I have an exact closing date, I will post it. Why a Himalayan Salt Cave???

Welcome! Several years ago I came across a Himalayan salt cave in Naperville, Illinois. I loved my experience so much that I continued to drive 2 hours and 20 minutes to the facility a handful of times each year. Describing the experience is difficult because it is like no other, yet the concept is simple. You arrive at the cave, wearing anything that you are comfortable in, and recline in a zero gravity chair. You are surrounded by thousands of pounds of authentic Himalayan salt while pharmaceutical grade salt is pumped into each session by a halogenerator. Inhaled salt, also known as halotherapy, is carried deep into the lungs to cleanse and purify, easing the symptoms of those suffering from seasonal allergies, the cold, the flu, COPD, sinus pressure, and asthma. It also helps the body relax, reduce tension headaches, alleviate stress, increase energy, improve mood and promote a better night’s rest. Himalayan salt is composed of negative ions, which fight the positive ions that we are surrounded by everyday all day long helping to restore balance and wellness to our lives. After spending 21 years in the classroom as a public school educator, I decided it was time for a change. In trying to figure out what I wanted to do next, I had to think about something I am passionate about and truly believe in. I have always had a caring/helpful heart so doing something that would help others was of great importance. When the idea came to me of opening a Himalayan salt cave right here in Peoria, I became so excited that I worked night and day to figure out a way to make it happen. Several months later, here we are and I am opening the first Himalayan salt cave in the Peoria area. My hope is to bring a feeling of relaxation and wellness into the lives of as many people as possible.
