What a night to remember as we celebrated Freedom Plaza's 36th anniversary. 🎉 We've built such an amazing community, seen so many smiles, thrown so many fun events and seen so many family's lives change for the better. This milestone wouldn’t be possible without all of you, the people who make this place so special—our residents, staff, families, and friends. Here's to 36 years of our beautiful Freedom Plaza community here in Peoria, Arizona. 🥂

Our residents win first place for craftiness and creativity! ⭐ They're always up to something artsy, and today we made some beautiful bracelets! This was a great chance to talk with friends while focusing the mind. 🧠
What started as a simple fundraiser to support staff injured in a tragic accident has grown into something truly meaningful. Residents began offering their handmade jewelry in exchange for donations—first to help fill a GoFundMe, and now to support the Freedom Plaza Scholarship Foundation. 💖 Thanks to their talents and generosity, thousands of dollars have been raised to help fund staff members’ education.

Freedom Plaza Peoria was designed, built and originally operated by Robert Roskamp, senior living pioneer and philanthropist. He formed Freedom Plaza Limited Partnership (FPLP) in 1987 and teamed up with Sun Health, an Arizona senior living and community health non-profit organization in a joint venture that strengthened the ownership group.
“Freedom Plaza was the first Life Plan community of its kind”, said Mr. Roskamp. “I’m proud to have led the development of such a strong and vibrant sector of the senior living market.”
FPLP has retained continuous ownership of the Freedom Plaza campus, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. In April, 2018, the Arizona Department of Insurance granted FPLP’s wholly-owned subsidiary a permit to manage the Freedom Plaza campus, previously managed by Brookdale.
