Barry Jacobs, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist who has long worked with family members who are caring for an older loved one. In addition to his professional training, he spent seven years caring for his step-father and mother who both had dementia. His family caregiving experience taught him that even though he had the professional education and experience, he wasn’t fully prepared for what it took to be a family caregiver. Come hear Barry Jacobs, PsyD share some strategies on how to best manage your caregiving responsibilities without letting them pull you down. In the morning, he will be speaking to family caregivers and in the afternoon, professionals can come hear him speak about how to best serve family caregivers.
