You have probably seen it on professional athletes, or on TV shows such as Dancing with the Stars, or maybe on different people at the Olympics. Or maybe you have had it applied to you or you have applied it to someone. Maybe you have had a injury and go to therapy and your therapist has applied it on you. I am referring to Kinesio Tape - the colorful tape you have seen on people and may wonder, "what is that and what is it for?" I have been a certified Kinesio instructor for almost 20 years and have taught hundreds of medical professionals on the correct techniques for its use to decrease pain and swelling, remodel scar tissue, assist muscle movement/strength and many other uses. And I will be teaching the Foundations Course for Kinesio Taping for medical professionals in Kankakee on September 13 and 14, 2025.

With UTube and social media many people are applying Kinesio tape with no additional training/education and sometimes get the intended results and sometimes not. If there is enough interest, I will be teaching a three hour class for persons with no medical back ground (lay persons) on how to apply the tape correctly. I have been in the Peotone location for over 18 years, Using a very gentle light touch, fascia freeing technique, I treat persons with all types of pain. One patient described it as a "massage from the
inside out." Unlike traditional massage, the client remains completely dressed while being treated.
