Netflix released the second season of “13 Reasons Why” on May 18, 2018. Season one controversially and graphically covered the topics of su***de, bullying, violence, and more. While it helped begin much needed conversations on these important topics, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry believes it is important to provide support including mental health, parental and adult guidance, as well as how to seek help in these discussions for more positive outcomes. For this reason, AACAP offers resources in hopes of helping children and families at the time of season two’s release. All of the resources below can be accessed via the following link. And do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns about these topics as they may pertain to yourself, your child, or someone else you care about.
