🌕🕯✨ Blessed Samhain ✨🕯🌕
October 31st – The Witch’s New Year 🌿
Today we celebrate Samhain (pronounced Sow-in), the sacred turning point marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. This ancient Celtic festival honors death, rebirth, and the thinning of the veil—when the spiritual and physical realms are closest. It’s a time to honor our ancestors, release what no longer serves us, and set intentions for the year ahead.
🍂 A Brief History
Samhain dates back thousands of years to pre-Christian Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. It was a fire festival marking the final harvest and the start of the darker half of the year. Bonfires were lit to guide spirits, and offerings of food and drink were left for loved ones who had passed. Over time, Samhain evolved into All Hallows’ Eve (Halloween), but its spiritual roots remain deeply alive in modern witchcraft.

🕯Ways to Celebrate Samhain
✨ Create an ancestor altar with photos, candles, and offerings of food or drink.
✨ Perform a release ritual—write down what you’re ready to let go of, then burn it safely in a cauldron or fireproof bowl.
✨ Light a black candle for protection and a white candle for guidance.
✨ Cook a harvest meal—think root vegetables, apples, and hearty stews—and set a plate for your ancestors.
✨ Spend time in meditation or divination, listening to the whispers of spirit through tarot, scrying, or pendulum work.
✨ Honor nature—thank the earth for its bounty and prepare your home for the darker months.
🌒 This is a night of magic, remembrance, and transformation. Let the veil’s thinning guide you inward — to your shadows, your ancestors, and your spirit. 🌿✨
