🌟Hopping on this trend!

🫶🏼Unfortunately, I love:

1️⃣Telling people I have birthed 3 children.

2️⃣Cooking all of my own food 90% of the time.

3️⃣Any excuse to dress up and not wear gym clothes.

4️⃣Iced Coffee year round.

5️⃣90° Fall Georgia Weather so I can float/swim in my new pool.

6️⃣Playing on Outdoor Fitness Equipment with my kids.

7️⃣Window shopping/trying on clothes for fun.

8️⃣Having parties for no reason so I can cook for my friends.

9️⃣The look on people's faces when they learn that I'm 42.

Fall=All the Pumpkin Recipes!

This Pumpkin Pie French Toast was delish, y'all!

I could have enjoyed it as a treat, but I chose to cut the calories back a bit by changing a few things from the original recipe:

1️⃣I used a low calorie/low carb bread.

2️⃣I skipped the tbsp of sugar the recipe called for.

3️⃣I used low calorie/low sugar syrup for the topping.

Pumpkin has many health benefits including:

🌟Rich in Vitamins A, C, & E

🌟Helps digestion due to its high fiber content

🌟Promotes a healthier heart

🌟High in Magnesium & Potassium which helps maintain a healthy blood pressure, as well as healthy bones.

🌟Low in calories=great choice for weight loss

So, it's definitely worth incorporating some pumpkin to your nutrition plan.

🔥It might be Fall, but it's still pretty dang hot here in Middle GA, so here's another Poolside Total Body/Core Focused Workout for ya!

10-15 Reps Each
x3 Sets Each

1️⃣Inchworms + Pushups
2️⃣ Alternating V-sit Leg Lifts
3️⃣Seated Side Bends
4️⃣V-Ups

Something I say to my clients often during their training session is, "If it seems hard, it probably means you should be doing it more!"

Battle ropes are no exception. They are definitely one of the hardest exercises I have thrown at them.

There's always a method to my madness though.

It is one of the most beneficial exercises for weight loss.

Not only is their body burning tons of calories while performing this exercise, it continues to burn them for hours after they have completed their workout.

It's also an excellent way for them to get some cardio in, as well as a full body workout in a short amount of time.

Are you in the mindset of: "If the scale isn't moving, my progress has stalled?"

Maybe you should try shifting your mindset to other benefits of working out.

I'd bet my left bicep that your body can move with much more ease than it did before you started your program.

And that your energy levels have probably sky rocketed.

And that you can do things you once were unable to, like maybe touch your toes or get up off the floor with little to no assistance.

Your heart is thanking you, as well as your lungs, your joints, and of course, your muscles! 💪🏼

So, remember, the next time you step on that scale, the number isn't the whole picture.

Take progress pictures and keep a journal of the changes your body is experiencing.

Tangible documentation is much better for motivation than constantly being disappointed by the scale!

They may not all be on the same fitness journey, but they all have one thing in common:

They put in the work.

They remain disciplined and consistent.

Whether they're working out to lose weight, build muscle, keep their body strong as they age, or to compete, they're all sticking to their plan.

Eating healthy and exercising isn't just about you. It's about being there for your kids & teaching them how to live a healthy lifestyle.

A lot of people seem to think I don't allow my kids to have sugar since I am a personal trainer & nutritionist.

That is definitely not the case because, if you know me at all, you know I am a firm believer in enjoying treats in moderation.

If I didn't allow them sugar at all, they would just want it more.

I do, however, always try to teach them a lesson in serving sizes.

I do not allow them to take a whole box of crackers to the table to munch on. I show them the nutrition facts and say, "X amount of crackers is one serving, so put that in a bowl, and that's all you need."

This is important so they learn not to binge eat. And trust me, one of mine is a sneaky little binge eater!

I try to avoid topics such as weight gain and focus more on why it isn't good for their health to eat more than one serving size.

It is crucial that we start teaching them healthy habits now.

And that we are following our own healthy path because they are always watching!

Happy Fall, y'all!

I am a huge fan of doing whatever makes you happy, so if you have been drinking your Pumpkin Spice since August because it brings you joy, then kudos to you!

I enjoy the Pumpkin Spice flavor just as much as y'all do.

However, as a Summer lover, I waited til Summer was officially ending to get a Pumpkin flavored coffee.

Here's how I keep the calories low on my coffee order:

Iced Coffee
1 Pump Pumpkin (sweetened flavor)
1 Pump Hazelnut (unsweetened flavor)
Splash of Almond Milk

Working out is a great outlet for stress relief, but sometimes you need more.

Especially when it's your job and you eat, sleep, and breathe fitness.

It is absolutely my passion and I LOVE what I do, but at some point, I need an escape from work.

So, when I need to feel like I am ACTUALLY taking time off from work, I turn to a hobby that I picked up about 14 years ago: crocheting.

It helps me push through anxiety, gives me something to focus on when my mind is going 90-to-nothing, and gives me a sense of accomplishment when I complete a project.

There is something about the repetitive motions of my hook looping through my yarn that is comforting.

I am currently making a crop top for a friend and I can't wait to see the results!

This is your sign to take the day off from the gym.

Go outside, get fresh air & sunshine.

Your muscles need time to recover.

You should not be doing strength training 7 days a week.

That's just asking for injury.

Plus it is completely unnecessary.

I promise your muscles won't forget how to do the work.

And you definitely won't lose them from 1-2 days of active recovery.

You don't have to be still all day. (I certainly cannot do it!)

Go for a bike ride, a walk, roller skate, swim, go bowling, play mini golf, or do some stretching.

Do something FUN!
